Bacanora is a true gem tucked away on a corner. Small in size but big on flavor. From the moment we walked in, the service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making the experience feel warm and personal.
We started with drinks and two appetizers that set the tone for the rest of the meal — fresh, vibrant, and packed with incredible flavors. We shared a main dish that was perfectly portioned for sharing. Dessert was great.
Prices are on the higher side ($$$), but absolutely worth it for the quality, authenticity, and overall experience. I highly recommend Bacanora to anyone looking for a special night out with phenomenal food. I’ll definitely be back soon to explore more of their menu!
Absolutely delicious meal that is NOT your run of the mill night out. We’ve been twice to celebrate our anniversary, and each time we’ve had excellent and unique dishes! The bone marrow elote was beyond tasty. Sydney was our server and she did such a lovely job of making our meal feel special for the occasion. She patiently helped us decide what we wanted to order and she did a marvelous job of keeping the meal on pace for the 90 minute reservation slot without us ever feeling rushed. Will continue to be a go to special place that always elicits excitement when we’re able to score a reservation. The value for the food you get is unmatched!
The cucumber salad sooo good!!!!! The atmosphere is great with Música latina!! Elote is a must and the Mango sorbet. Me gustó bastante este little mexican rstaurante. 😎👍🏽
The stars aligned and I scored a reservation here for my and my partners anniversary (after applying for reservations for MONTHS). The experience was amazing!
The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, and I get the feeling they like to be there! The food was unbearably -eyes closed while I ate - good. The ambiance was intimate and adorable. I can see why it's tough to get a table here.
We shared an elote appetizer and the steak main course. It was a lot of beautiful food. No salt needed. That's how I rate my food at restaurants... if I have to request the salt shaker... and here, I did not. It was the best meal experience I've had in a long time. Highly recommend!
After reading numerous bad reviews and seeing negative videos about this place on the Internet, I had second thoughts about even showing up for my reservation BUT IM SO GLAD I DID! I have to say their food was so flavorful yet so light and filling. This quickly became one of my go-to Mexican restaurants & id happily wait that reservation time again because they did not disappoint at all. I was able to enjoy great food in a very warm & enchanting setting. And the aroma of freshly made dishes that linger through the air is the cherry on top, my husband & I were very happy with the service, food & ambience! Thank you Bacanora! we'll be back & with tons of friends ❤️
Bacanora was incredible. The small restaurant in downtown Phoenix has been all over my IG, and I knew I had to try it. Reservations are highly recommended, but they do have open seating at the bar. The service was spot on. The vibe made you feel like you had traveled to Mexico, and the food was incredible. We got the elote with bone marrow, which might be my new favorite way to eat elote. The short ribs were enough to share and had a sweet citrus marinade flavor. I will definitely be back to try more.
Bacanora is honestly fire. The food is packed with flavor, everything tastes fresh and just hits right. I got the Puro Amor drink and it was not only super refreshing but actually looked beautiful too—with mint, flower, and crushed ice. The whole vibe of the place is chill but still feels like you’re somewhere special. Also, shoutout to the waitresses—they were so kind and welcoming, really made the experience feel easy and good. If you’re ever in PHX, this spot is a must.
The best Mexican restaurant in Phoenix for foodies without a doubt. The food feels like an artistic experience over a meal. We got the short rib with two appetizers (Frijol dip and bone marrow) and had to take leftovers! All of these dishes were well-crafted and couldn’t recommend them enough. For cocktails we got the Old fashioned with Mescal which is a must if you enjoy mezcal! The maragrita was ‘good’ but not on the same level as everything else. For 2 cocktails and 3 dishes was $120 and worth every penny.
Quite the spot! Quaint so don’t expect to accommodate a large group. Get in here if you can… even solo. Everything on the menu is irresistible. Tip- show up early to sit at the open seating bar. Or, for a table, grab a reservation online… it might take you a few weeks though depending on the time of year. Good luck and enjoy!
Great food!! Love the up and coming neighborhood!

Pretty good food, cute little building, nice decor, friendly attentive service, loud, rated slightly lower due to cost - food is priced very high and, although we enjoyed it, food items are probably 50-75% higher than they should be.

We walked in and were able to wait for a seat at the bar. What a great experience. The energy is so high. The food is fantastic. Great flavor in every bite. Highly recommend for couples to do that if a reservation isn’t possible. The staff is so attentive. All of the salsas were so good and some were hot. The beans are crazy good. Try it!!!
