Platform 18 at Century Grand

Platform 18 is one of those rare cocktail bars where every drink feels like it was engineered by someone who genuinely loves the craft. I’ve tried a solid spread of their menu by now, and not a single miss—each cocktail shows up with its own personality, polished flavors, and that signature Platform 18 flair.

The bar staff might be the real secret ingredient. They’re not just skilled; they’re engaged. Chatty in the best way, quick with recommendations, and genuinely fun to talk to. It’s the kind of crew that makes the whole experience feel alive, like you stumbled into a story instead of just a bar.

Between the atmosphere, the consistently stellar drinks, and a staff that turns hospitality into an art form, Platform 18 has become an easy favorite in Phoenix.

Very cool experience, we came here between dinner and a movie saturday night. We had assorted cocktails and champagne for our anniversary, the bartender was very nice and helpful with drink selections, the virtual train ride was a really cool experience! Would recommend to anyone looking to grab a drink and have a different bar experience

The service was good, atmosphere was fun. From the description, I expected there would of been a bit more interaction on the train theme side. Reservation was at 6p last call given at 7p and they had us out of the car at 710p. (Not 90 min) We were told we could take our drinks into another lounge.

We had a great experience at Platform 18! The service was excellent, our drinks came out super fast, drinks were creative and delicious and our 90 minutes went by in a flash. We will definitely return. So much fun!

This place was so cool! It was like being on a 1920’s train in NYC during prohibition and the drinks were some of the best I have ever had! The staff also amazing and played up the theme! For sure going to make this a regular date night spot with the wife!

If you want the best experience I suggest you come with a reservation to be able to sit at the specific bar you want! Can’t say I’ve ever had a miso drink out of a miso bowl! Definitely was a fun experience!

Always a great experience at Platform 18, it’s one of my favorite parts of Century Grand. The service on this visit was especially noteworthy, friendly, and attentive throughout.

The current drink menu leans a bit more traditional than in the past, with fewer bold or inventive options, but still offers a well-balanced lineup inspired by classic cocktails.

One takeaway, the courtyard area between Platform 18 and Grey Hen Rx feels like a missed opportunity. The overhead lighting is a bit harsh and breaks the immersion. Replacing it with more atmospheric lighting, or even projection mapping a city skyline and night sky onto the ceiling and upper walls, could transform the space into a seamless, believable extension of the enveloping experience between the train car and M E Lee.

Still, Century Grand remains a standout destination for craft cocktails and immersive storytelling.
