Note that there are 2 Desi Gaadi (literally translates to Indian vehicle) food trucks. As of this writing, Desi Gaadi 1.0 is "permanently" parked Wednesday thru Monday at the Turmeric Indian Cash and Carry parking lot on Bell Road in Phoenix. There are no tables at the 1.0 location and the area is not well lit. They tell me Desi Gaadi 2.0 is active Wednesdays to Sundays and moves around a lot. If you call their phone number and it goes to a full voicemail, know that they are closed that day. They are not active on Insta. They should be. I had no idea there were 2 trucks till I spoke to the folks at 1.0 The food was authentic South Indian and excellent! The price is reasonable, the portion size is good and the spice levels (Mild/Medium/Spicy) are tailored to the Indian palate. If you're not used to spicy food, mild will be plenty spicy. Overall, Desi Gaadi is the real deal!!!!!

Earlier the quality used to be good. But These days it is really bad, not sure what oil they use. Also very unhygienic maintenance.

Food has been always good from my experience. Biriyanis and goat pepper fry are awesome. Service need improvement, often ends up calling multiple times for the order since they are busy and no callbacks though promised.

They had a pop up lunch event today and the food smelled delicious. I ordered the butter chicken combo. The portions are super small, I got maybe 4-5 tiny pieces of chopped butter chicken and a lot of sauce. You can't pick your side dish which sucks and they include a desert in the combo that isn't appetizing. I ordered the samosas and they were decent. I should have just bought those. I paid about $18. This wasn't an authentic experience.

Desi Gadi Food Truck offers some of the best South Indian cuisine in Phoenix town! The flavors are authentic, and the food is always fresh and flavorful. I recently tried their special Chicken Dum Biryani, and it was absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive, making every visit a delightful experience. If you're a fan of South Indian cuisine, this food truck is a must-visit. 5 stars!

We always buy samosas and tea after grocery shopping. Recently they are more oily than a few months ago but overall okay. Good for snacks.

Every time I've been to Tumeric grocery store this food truck has been parked there but closed. Today I went around night time and to my surprise it was actually open with people actually getting food! SUPER excited to try it out as I crave Indian street food. I decided to get an appetizer the Chaat Paapdi which was about $8. Price was ok given todays inflated economy but there were TWO major issues. The portion of this tiny little thang was way too small. But the bigger problem was that there were NO SAUCES!! I get it, there's variations to this dish but literally no yogurt, no green chutney, no tamarind sauce!? How in the world are we supposed to eat dry hard crackers with chickpeas placed on top?! Luckily for me I had some tamarind sauce at home that I was able to put on top to save the dish. But imagine if I didn't?! Service was good. Nice lady. Quick to make it. Said it would take 15-20 mins but felt more like 7mins. Will I be back? Yes to give it another chance. But definitely not leaving till I get my sauces
