Very good food. Should have been 5 stars but coffee was cold.
Everything is tasty and the service is hit or miss. Bummer they don’t have WiFi but I get it.
My one complaint is charging .75 for a splash of half and half and .75 for a half pump of simple syrup. Da fuq?
Already THE BEST pastries in AZ, but I went on Father's Day and the croissant and lox sandwich changed my life! Perfection!
Delicious croissants! Make sure to warm them up to maximize on the delicate flaking. Great place to get a nice French treat and coffee on a weekend morning. Or even during the week. Plenty of seating and nice lighting. The breads look amazing too and I'll plan on getting one next time I go by.
This place is amazing. We come here every Sunday, and the consistency and quality are so reliable. Coffee is also yum.
The BEST pastries and croissants that you’re going to get in Arizona. I feel like it’s a hidden gem.
I went on a weekday and was disappointed with the very limited menu that was available. Of the two lunches on the menu, only one was available; a grill cheese sandwich.
Such a cute and friendly place! The matcha strawberry lemonade is so good!!! I think it's seasonal though. They have premade sandwiches in a case that look amazing! I'll have to try them next time :)
No place compares to how good these pastries are.
Cute bakery with "world class" patisserie fare. We had an Almond Croissant and a Spinach Feta croissant with cappuccinos.
It was quiet on Sunday around lunch and PERFECT outdoor seating to enjoy.
The staff were sweet and welcoming and made us feel like regulars.
As good as any baked goods we had in Paris.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Everything I’ve ever had from here has been so delicious, both coffee and pastry alike. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and parking is plentiful. If I could go every weekend I would but I think my stomach would be mad at me for that. Great place to bring visitors as well.

I have been a devoted patron of JL Patisserie for quite some time, often frequenting the establishment with family and friends at least three Sundays each month. My visits are usually marked by a consistent order, and I have introduced numerous individuals to this charming patisserie, always eager to share the experience.
Regrettably, over the past several months, I’ve encountered a troubling pattern of behavior that has left me disheartened and compelled to write this. On multiple occasions – six, to be precise – I have been met with an inexplicable level of hostility from one particular staff member. Her demeanor is persistently unfriendly, even bordering on rude. Each encounter leaves me feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable, a stark contrast to the warmth typically associated with JL Patisserie. Today’s incident epitomized the issue.
My boyfriend and I both ordered the same meal: three scrambled eggs with toast and jam. A different staff member took our order with no issues, but this particular employee then intervened, stating that she “couldn’t give us six eggs” and insisting that she had “other orders to fulfill.” Despite my clarifications – that we were two individuals each requesting three eggs, a standard offering – she persisted, insisting it was somehow unreasonable. I was left bewildered, especially given that fulfilling two separate breakfast orders, such as sandwiches, would presumably require equivalent resources and time.
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated instance. On another occasion, I ordered a large green tea and brought along my flask to reduce plastic waste. The initial staff member was more than willing to help, agreeing to fill the flask with the tea I had paid for. However, as soon as this same unfriendly employee began preparing the drinks, she approached me and brusquely stated, “I can’t fill up your flask all the way; you’re just going to take all the tea, and I can’t just give you all the tea.” I clarified that I only wanted the amount I had purchased, not a full flask. This interaction, like so many others, left me feeling unfairly scrutinized, as if my request was an imposition rather than a reasonable, environmentally friendly choice.
What I find most disheartening is not simply her refusal to serve us but rather the unpleasant energy she consistently exudes toward me specifically. I have always treated her with friendliness and respect, only to be met with an unyielding wall of disdain. The other staff members exhibit the kindness and professionalism one expects from an establishment of this caliber, which makes her behavior all the more jarring and, quite frankly, disappointing.
This experience has deeply soured my perception of JL Patisserie, a place I once eagerly anticipated visiting. After today’s experience, I have decided I will no longer be returning. Upon sharing these incidents with my family, they too have chosen to take their business elsewhere. While it’s truly disheartening to think that an establishment I’ve supported so consistently now leaves me feeling unwelcome and burdened with unnecessary hostility, I cannot justify subjecting myself to such treatment on what should be a relaxing day.
In light of these repeated interactions, I sincerely hope that the management at JL Patisserie takes notice. It is a great loss to forgo a once-beloved destination, but it’s unreasonable to continue patronizing a place that fails to uphold even the most basic standards of hospitality. A change is clearly warranted.
