La Cocina Económica is a small restaurant serving delicious and cheap Mexican food, considered by some to be the best in Arizona. The food is amazing and tastes like delicious, home cooked meals. Specific praised dishes include the California Burrito, Surf and Turf Burrito, quesobirria tacos with consume, asada quesadilla, enchiladas (both red and green), and breakfast plates like machaca con huevo and chilaquiles verde. The agua fresca cucumber drink is refreshing and fresh. Portions, like the incredibly generous quesabirria, are large and pricing is fair. The staff is super friendly and service is fast, adding to the experience. The restaurant and bathroom are super clean, and the menu is easy to navigate. It is a highly recommended spot for lunch or breakfast.
