Had reservations for a large group. Restaurant did not have appropriate serving staff. 3 hours for food. Then read in the paper they were closing. Very disappointing.

My family of 8 kids lived around the corner on 7th.AVE.and always enjoyed the food and the crew etc.SAD when they closed.. Well we wanted to be sure and make it to the one on NORTHERN before they closed but apparently the owner doesn't allow laughing or having a good time. I brought a few friends for their1st.visit so we were having a good time until i noticed all 6 tables --who were seated after us-- were all eating? I asked the waitress (aka owner,Monica) where our food was its been 45 minutes??? she said,I need you to leave..WHAT??? she said,i have your drinks now leave or i will call the Police...WHOA!!! calm down lady.. i said wheres our food?? she said your not getting it!!! I guess the Witch needed to show her power one last time... (customers around us could not believe it)

The interior is nothing fancy but they serve great Mexican food. Very consistent. Never had a bad meal. Good chips and salsa. Excellent cheese crisp. Good service. Can't go wrong when craving a good Mexican food meal. Highly recommended.

I'm extremely sad they are closed. So much great food over so many years. They had the best refried beans of any restaurant or home I've been to. They had perfectly warm salted chips and great chunky salsa. I always loved the light plate A with a shredded beef taco. Their handmade warmed up flour tortillas where a gift from God in your mouth. I moved away about 20 years ago but each time that I came "home" my entire family made sure to eat here. The best place to eat good Mexican food in what was North Phoenix. I do hope they open up a new restaurant and do wish them them best.

The best Mexican food in town, by far! I love the atmosphere, the value, and the quality plates served hot and fresh. Thanks for your great service, Los Compadres! I'll be back again and again!

Been going to this place for close to 20 years probably. Lots of family lunches, dinners, celebrations here over the years. Sad to see them go. All God's best.

Beware before driving across town for 1 last meal they close from 2 to 4, sure would have been nice to know that. Website says they are open, best to call ahead.

I've been going to this place since I was born. In the past couple years the prices have gone way up while the service and quality has gone down. Recently they were closed on a Saturday for a private party. On a Saturday! Completely closed.

First time here. Enjoyed the complimentary chips & salsa. Ordered and ate the ENTIRE Mexican pizza w/a friend. It was GOOD! The waitress, Sarah was super nice and professional. Next time I'm in Phoenix, I'll try something else. Very happy eating The bathroom was clean too

Had this last night and it's definitely not Mexican food I got a tamale with a side order of rice that cost $3.00 and all they gave me was a ice cream scoop so 1 tamale and scoop of rice costed me 9.00. Husband had a carne asada burrito and the meat was dry tasted like yesterday's meat they tried to reheat cost him 11.99. If your looking for Mexican food don't go here save your money.

just a smh, Salsa is not the same as the one that 7th ave had. It's not even worth it anymore, not because if the salsa but the food in general, 7th ave was good. Why they close?
