There were six of us having lunch in between a highlight tour in the West Building and the special exhibition Book of Esther in the East Building. Such a convenient and wonderful cafe onsite for us to go to! Food is superb and service pleasant. Will for sure to be back again and again!
Always interesting items on the menu. This time a different take on shrimp and grits which my husband said was delicious. I had the root vegetable hash and grits -- the grits were so creamy and the pepper coulis around the edge was delicious. They were busy so service was a little slow (this was a Wednesday) but the food came quickly. You do need to make reservations (which we did) since they often do not allow walk-ins.
As always, the menu is varied and reflects seasonal availability of food and new selections by the chef. The ambience and service are wonderful. It's a great place to enjoy a meal after or before seeing an exhibition or event or just enjoying the museum.
