We had dinner last night to celebrate my brother in law’s engagement and I’m so thrilled that we picked Renata’s Hearth to celebrate. I echo many of the same sentiments as the other reviewers. I’m generally skeptical of restaurants inside hotels as I feel they are mostly overpriced serving subpar food. This was not the case at Renata’s.

First off the setting is beautiful, located inside the historic Arizona Biltmore hotel, the unique block architecture creates a warm and intimate ambience which is reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright’s designs.

We were immediately impressed by our waiter Ivan. From the moment we sat down, Ivan was warm and welcoming. He was extremely knowledgeable and helped us choose a delicious meal. We started with the Pao de Queijo, Sea Bass & Blue crab Ceviche, and guacamole. The star was the ceviche, there was such a balance of sweetness and citrus. The mains we selected were the lamb barbacoa and Moqueca with fava beans and crispy polenta sides. The leg of lamb was incredibly tender and complimented the charred vegetables perfectly. The moqueca was outstanding, the combination of crispy rice, prawns and the flaky buttery sea bass all worked so well together. It was elevated and rustic all in one. We didn’t think our meal could get much better but the coconut cheesecake paired with the jalapeño ice cream ended our dining experience on a high note. Overall, I am so impressed with the food, service and ambience, everything was above and beyond my expectations.

We chose Renata’s Hearth for a special birthday dinner and left feeling disappointed. While there were some highlights, a continuous series of small mistakes and oversights made the evening feel more ordinary than special — not what you expect at a high-end restaurant inside the Biltmore.

When making our reservation, we noted that my wife has a dairy allergy. Unfortunately, this detail never made it to the staff. Both the hostess and server asked about allergies again, and it quickly became clear they weren’t confident about what dishes were dairy-free or could be modified. While they eventually pieced together options, the process was clunky and slowed down ordering. At a restaurant of this caliber, we expected smoother communication and better staff knowledge.

We both ordered the summer three-course menu. My meal started strong: the tetela and Caesar salad were outstanding. Unfortunately, the wagyu brisket tacos were a letdown — the meat was just okay, the tortillas lacked quality, and the salsas leaned overly sweet without any real heat.

My wife had guacamole and chips (the only dairy-free starter offered), a modified Caesar salad without cheese, and the seabass as her main. The seabass was excellent, though it came with a $25 upcharge and was the only entrée option she could safely order. Each step of her meal required back-and-forth checks with the kitchen, which again chipped away at the dining experience.

One bright spot was the wine service — the sommelier listened carefully to our preferences and recommended a bottle that we thoroughly enjoyed.

But beyond that, the evening was marked by small missteps. Our birthdays, which were noted in the reservation, were acknowledged inconsistently. The hostess seemed aware, but the server was not, and when the manager stopped by, his gesture felt rushed and impersonal. These little errors, paired with the allergy confusion and uneven food quality, took what should have been a memorable evening and made it feel forgettable.

Our bill was around $350, which is what we expected to spend, but the experience didn’t measure up to the cost. For future visits to the Biltmore, we’ll skip Renata’s Hearth and put that money toward extending our stay instead.

This was one of the highlights of a so so staycation.

The first time I had the summer prix fixe menu which is a great deal and has great options I did do the ceviche upgrade, then the Caesar Salad and the Wagyu Brisket.

The sea bass ceviche was amazing with the passion fruit, and I think was my favorite thing I ate the whole stay. The Caesar is a poblano Caesar and very good it's a nice spin on the traditional Caesar. The Wagyu Brisket was perfection and they give you all the stuff to turn it into tacos.

The next time I wanted to try the Charred Strawberry Salad...sooo the first one was set down then taken away because it wasn't right...we were not told what wasn't right. The 2nd one that came out was fine but it really shouldn't be called a Charred Strawberry Salad, habanero from the dressing is the prominent flavor and it's spicy. There are very few strawberries and for some reason they put 4 thin slices of apple across the top. The labneh was a nice touch for cooling the habanero but there were definitely too few strawberries to be called a strawberry salad.

One other thing, there's not a large attention to detail just like in the other areas of the hotel, on the first visit when I ordered the brisket, they put a bunch of whole peppers on my plate but only provided a butter knife, they were very difficult to cut. When they boxed the brisket they just threw everything in 1 box, I'm actually surprised they put the salsa's in containers. But the peppers the brisket, the tortillas and then the sauces just pretty much dumped in 1 box from what I could tell. I also said I was taking the food back to my mom but they only provided 1 set of silverware.

Overall at this staycation I did not feel like I was at a luxury hotel with luxury service everything was just ok. They get 5 stars because the flavors of a few things I had were exceptional and nothing was actually bad.

The food was great but a bit spicy for me.
Loud atmosphere yet fun. I did not like my server because she approached our table with a loud voice and a dirty stained black apron to take our dinner order. Would you want your ($000’s) food delivered to your table in a dirty apron? The Manager of this restaurant should have more pride and class! Wash the APRONS of the Servers nightly!!!

I didn’t have drinks. The waiter made the difference. We had a rough starton the fixed menu starters (due to me not being able to eat spices ) but when the fish came everything was great . And the server adjusted to bring me what I actually came for which was the sea bass . Anyhow - he was great and that’s the best fish I ever had

Tried the restaurant week menu and it was delicious. The food was amazing. One of the best Paloma's I've ever had and the brisket was so tender. Our server, Alex and team were amazing too. Great evening and will definitely return to sit on the patio next time.

Marco was wonderful. Attentive but never made us feel rushed. Was catching up with a friend I hadn’t seen in years so that was so appreciated. Entire staff was good.Wagu brisket - yum. And liked the kick on melon salad.

Located in Arizona Biltmore, this Latin-inspired restaurant is one you'll want to add to your list if you’re visiting in Phoenix.

We dined on a Sunday evening at 6:45 PM and were seated quickly. Our server, Jeff, was lovely and courteous, but unfortunately could not do much to expedite the very painfully slow dinner service. We ordered just 2 entrees and 1 side and it took over 50 minutes to receive them.

*** THE MEAL ***
- Roasted Chilean Seabass ($58) — peruvian rice, mole verde, pickled fresno chile. This was TO DIE FOR. Seriously. Perfectly seared on both ends with a delicious flavor to the fish. The rice was adequately served and the mole verde added extra flavor. I wish I had ordered two of these as it was spectacular.
- Tomahawk steak ($150) — 32 oz dry aged black angus, chimichurri, cooked medium rare. Like most tomahawk steaks, you really can't go wrong with the cut and flavor. The chimichurri was a great addition and this meal also came with corn and flour tortillas with 3 house made salsas. It was different, eating a tomahawk like a taco, but it was great. Additionally, the pineapple salsa was hands down the best salsa I have ever had and I really don't say that lightly.
- Esquites ($12) — sweet corn, green chile butter, epazote, kewpie mayo, queso fresco, and house tajin. While I thought that this was delicious, it was a just a tad too liquidy and the corn was drowning in the concoction.

Overall, the ambiance is lovely and the meal was fantastic. I definitely recommend stopping by if you're staying at the resort. Hilton diamond members are also able to use their myway credit to dine here for added savings.

This restaurant is amazing! The food was so delicious. If you're looking for Latin cuisine at a romantic spot this is your go to. My wife is pescatarian so she was pleasantly surprised to find a well flavored whole branzino dish. We will definitely be back regularly. The food was that good! My only critique is that there are not many vegetable options for side dishes. We 2 appetizers. The seabass and blue crab ceviche is the best I've ever had and the charred octopus was also amazing. I also tried the brisket and it was so tender and cooked perfectly.

Dietary restrictions: They have great options for pescatarians and dairy free options.
