This is not a sushi restaurant. This is a sake restaurant. It’s so difficult to rate these hipster hotspots because it’s not a traditional experience. Sushi is a chef’s experiment, mostly good, sometimes not so much. Come to Sake Haus because you like Sake Haus. Try Sake Haus because you want unique and expensive sake. Try the sushi “tapas” because you’re after an experience less expectations.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The food is all amazing and unique, the vibe is so cool, the staff is the sweetest and super knowledgeable. I have celiac disease and I’ve never gotten sick. The sake list is AMAZING the cocktails are superb. Ugh I love this place.

Plus the staff was extremely sweet. You have your own server but all servers will check on you throughout the entire experience.
