Very authentic experience, the fish was like butter. The staff was on top of everything, very polite server, and the restaurant was very clean and organized.

Nakano is one of the greatest sushi joints in all of the southwest. Chef Leo comes from great lineage of sushi in AZ (Hiro-sama is his father), and the quality and depth here is amazing. The fish quality is tops. The execution is all there. It is always unfortunate to sit at the sushi bar and listen to the droves of people order basic rolls, spicy tuna, etc, is such a shame when such incredible cuts and treatment of fish coexist here. There are no bad bites. Plan to spend plenty of time here and enjoy yourself. This isn’t worth rushing over and defaulting to “popular classics”10/10

The best most authentic sushi in the area- great quality. The only down is price- of course you get what you pay for. Not a huge menu but it's just fabulous. So, if you're either not super hungry or not price sensitive, this should be first on your list. Again, quality of fish is the highest and if that's your highest priority there will not be anything comparable unless you go to far Tempe area, central phoenix, or scottsdale. Maybe one in Chandler. This should be on your list.

I ordered a couple of dishes. Are fine. But there are tendon in the toro sushi not able to chewed with $10 a piece wasn't supposed to. The chef not Japanese. Looks like Mexican, I don't know if that what's the reason.

Best sushi in Phoenix. Best sushi chef, great sous chef, and the staff are all amazing The service is great. You won't find many authentic Japanese owned restaurants anymore as many are owned mostly by Chinese and Koreans. The sushi is fresh and locally sourced with the best quality in mind. The menu may seem simple but you are always welcome to ask for chef choice and Leo will come up with something amazing.

Absolutely amazing! The owner, Leo, is so passionate about the food and is also extremely talented when it comes to creating and playing! Janet is also just as talented. The service was also fantastic, drink choices were great, the food tasted fresh, you could hardly tell it was imported. The food is also so Instagram worthy so all the foodies out there get ready to take pictures! The setting is small, but cozy and intimate. For families and ambulatory/handicapped guests, just be aware and have assistance helping you inside and to your seat at the bar.Great place for catching up with friends, impress your date, and even catching up with loved ones. Thank you so much, Sushi Nakano! Can't wait to come back real soon.
