The Barbacoa tacos are insanely good! So juicy. Spot on. The Pastor, right behind! And the elote (street corn) was bomb!

My street tacos at Tacos Chiwas had well seasoned, tender meat but the tortillas weren't grilled. They seemed to have just been taken out of the bag and served. I was surprised as I know I'd eaten there once before and didn't remember that, but also because Guy endorsed them. A bit disappointing...

The food is good but pricey for what you get. They don’t sell or provide chips .

The service is quick and friendly, though long ordering lines may form at peak times. The restaurant is cozy for a quick eatery and the tacos are all really good. The gorditas are definitely worth a try as well

The food was simple and absolutely delicious. We had many choices to eat while we were on vacation yet managed to go there twice!

Oh man. This place is a gem! We tried so many of their tacos. My fave was the lengua! Historically, I'm not a lengua fan (bad memories of when my grandma used to cook it. Sorry grams), but it is so tender and flavorful. I even liked it more than the carnitas! The corn in a cup was delicious. The Deshebrada de Gordita was also a hit. The salad was refreshing with a zingy lime dressing. The next time I'm in town, this is the first place I'm visiting!

The layout of this restaurant is very odd and annoying. There was no thought behind anything basically when designing. As you walk in the door you order and sit but you end up blocking the entrance because that's where you order your food. It's a total disaster I must say but maybe it's just me, who knows. The bartender looked like she didn't want to be there, didn't smile and only acknowledged when I would say excuse me. I guess they grill their carne asada to order but it was under seasoned and had no flavor, didn't even have the texture of a carne asada. Not my favorite. The chicken taco was pretty good though and it was nice that they grilled it but couldn't really taste the char on it. Their barbacoa taco was very delicious but wouldn't come here again. This place is a little overpriced and overrated for me.

Tacos left with eh. Just not much flavor in the meat or salsas. Must've tried them on an off day.

In my opinion, Tacos Chiwas has the best carne asada in all of Phoenix. I love the carne asada tacos and burrito. The chicken is good, but the carne asada really is the real winner here. The salsa is great, and the margaritas are delicious. The service is quick! I love the Phoenix location...tasted totally different at the Chandler location. Go to Phoenix!

I thought the tacos here were pretty solid. The price point was good for the food as well as beers and drinks. I would say my favorite taco was the taco chiwas which was pretty unique. The flavor of the corn tortillas was surprisingly good too. I liked the salsa bar and the avocado salsa verde. The only downside is that the pastor taco did not come with grilled pineapple

We picked this place because we could bring our dog with us on the outdoor patio. One of us had to go inside to order and then they brought the food out to us. We ordered the tacos Al Pastor and the gorditas, one Al Pastor and the other one Desherbrada Verde (shredded beef in a green sauce). I preferred the Al pastor one. She warned me the green one would be a bit spicy and it sure was! We also ordered the corn elote. It's a casual little place with good food and service.
