We ordered the lemon poppyseed pancakes, along with bacon and a couple eggs - all to share. Everything was great. The place is okay ambiance wise. Huge looking kitchen but the dining area seemed a bit sterile. Good coffee, the pancakes were awesome, and had to look the bacon they use here as it was amazing (called nueskes bacon, evidently Krogers carries it - get it especially if you like pepper as this is very peppery).
One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. The mission is incredible and worth supporting your local dollars into 💰
Great food, service was phenomenal (everyone had a smile) and atmpshere was good. I love their mission
The Joy Bus Diner is hands-down one of the best places to eat in Phoenix, not just because the food is incredible, but because the mission behind it is truly something special.
This isn’t just a diner. It’s a nonprofit with heart. Their entire mission is centered around supporting homebound cancer patients by delivering fresh, healthy meals right to their doors, all prepared by professional chefs. On top of that, The Joy Bus also provides valuable education on nutritious eating for those battling cancer. Every dollar you spend here helps fund that mission. It’s dining with a purpose, and that purpose couldn’t be more powerful.
Now let’s talk about the food…
Everything here is top notch. The menu is stacked with comfort classics done right, and you can taste the love in every bite. This morning, my wife had the chorizo burrito (house made chorizo next level), and I went with the chorizo plate and a waffle. Absolutely unreal. The tortillas? Out of this world. Fresh, flavorful, and taste like they are made in house. I’ve been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal.
They just moved to 32nd Street and Shea, and it’s already one of the best diners in Phoenix. The space is bright, welcoming, and filled with good energy.
And let’s not forget the staff, the service is always warm and personal. From what I understand, the servers are volunteers, donating their time because they believe in the mission. That says everything. You can feel the community here. It’s not just a meal, it’s an experience.
Shout out to everyone at The Joy Bus Diner. What you do matters. Keep feeding the body and the soul. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out. Go hungry and leave inspired.
Had a burger and a Ruben and both were FANTASTIC! picked my food up to go and it was packaged in the sweetest bag with hand written messages of encouragement and decorations. Im obsessed. What am amazing vibe and mission. Cannot wait to go try everything!! It's right on the corner of my neighborhood.
I’m pretty disappointed with the experience we just had at this place. My girlfriend and I went to breakfast here this morning and decided to sit at the bar.
Our server took our drink orders, mine was a Diet Coke, her’s was A Spicy Bloody Mary ……they were out of Diet Coke and we were told they have no liquor license. Which is odd because they have Alcoholic beverages on their menu.
I ordered the two egg breakfast which was mediocre at best, She ordered chicken and a biscuit which she didn’t enjoy at all. When our food came, I asked for hot sauce, she asked for side of ranch, we were informed they were out of ranch as well.
The sever must have read the look on my face after being out of a 3rd item requested because she then informed us they’re a nonprofit organization, and they only work with only donated items. As she rolled her eyes turned around walked away making hand gesture like I was being difficult.
All we wanted was have a nice breakfast before we went to work. The 3 items that they were out of should be consider staple items in a diner.
The Joybus behind the scenes story is incredible and I’d like to personally, thank you for supporting the community.
However, I’d hate for your name to be tarnished because of bad customer service in your for profit diner.
Good place to go for a great purpose
Great! Helping cancer patients with actually healthy food. It doesn’t get better than this. Amazing! A for effort. Great job at what you’re doing.

Decided to stop here today. Hubby’s hash looked good, but he barely touched it. Mostly potatoes. He said it was OK. I had biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were hard as a rock, and gravy had a strange taste. I’ve never had yellow sausage gravy before. Not a fan at all.

Amazing. Great food, wonderful service, and a good deal. Then you learn it is a charity for cancer patients, and you become more amazed. There should be more places like this. This place is just full of goodness and is an inspiration.
Will be back.
