First up, the "Evergreen Martini." Think James Bond, but with a side of olives that made me feel like I should be quoting Shakespeare. Delicious? Absolutely. Did I feel incredibly dramatic holding it? You bet your crumpets I did.The food? Oh man, the food. Tuna tostada was like a flavor explosion at a fiesta. Yucca brûlée? Forget crème brûlée, this was sunshine on a plate with a rush that had me sweating (because it was SO good, not because I went broke). Chicken guisado? Like comfort food on steroids, with a side of "how is this even possible?"Service? Impeccable. Our server glided around like a magician, refilling drinks and whisking away plates faster than you can say "extra guac."

Disappointing dining experience. Service is so slow & uncomfortable - we were only able to order 2 drinks in 3 hours, were not offered dessert before the bill was brought out & dealt with servers who clearly needed more training. Despite their extensive menu, the food turned out to be quite bland. I straight up threw my mushrooms away without eating them, could not stomach the weird texture & lack of flavor. Drinks were good, albeit expensive, for what they were. The decor was great. Plan to spend $150-200 per person.I had heard negative reviews from friends about Tia Carmen but hoped they were just off nights. However, there’s clearly a pattern. I would not go back.

Restaurant aesthetic- great, but that’s really it. The website and menu proudly boasts “At Tía Carmen, we pay homage to the beauty of the Southwest’s stories, land, and farmers through the dining experience” however the canned corn “street corn” we were served and flavor lacking appetizers and entrees said otherwise. My kids’ chicken strips and grilled cheese were more impressive than anything we ordered off the menu and for the price , my expectations were so much higher. This was such a disappointing meal and experience for what I thought was going to be a highlight of our trip. Our server took our order and we never saw her again other than to ask for a box and our check. We were not offered dessert menus, although there likely wouldn’t have been anything to change my mind about our experience at that point. Minimal service, minimal culinary effort paying homage to canned corn and basic ground beef taco meat. I really hate to say it- but entrees from Taco Bell pack more flavor than anything here. Severely disappointing.

Loved loved!!! Went in for a quick happy hour then stayed for dinner because our bar tender was great and the food was delicious! We had prawns and tri trip (both amazing) then I ordered the beef tostada with bone marrow….need I say more! My husband had the steak. The steak was cooked perfectly and served over the best mole we’ve had. Well done!!! Ohhh I forgot to add the Paloma was fabulous - go!

Our waitress was great she was super nice and kept checking on us. The food was also really good too however the aguachile did not in fact contain shrimp. There was a sauce poured over it that smelled like green tea or matcha and it was half of an avocado that was served. My only critique would be if you're going to sell a dish for example like aqua chiles please make sure that is what you're selling. Other than that everything was great.

The atmosphere was beautiful & the food was great! My only issue was the server. They could have been more professional with recommendations (which I asked for) and there was no willingness to try & they did not seem genuine at all. I felt very rushed towards the end when I asked for desert recommendations and the server brushed it off completely. Being GENUINELY friendly goes a long way !!

Our experience was absolutely fantastic. Our service was provided by Franklin, who was an absolute pleasure, and accommodated our bilingual language . We took his recommendation and tried the fish torta, one word “ delicious”, a must try. The lush green landscape was beautiful and all the staff we passed along the property where delightful and pleasant.

This was second time at Tia Carmen and the service and the food was impeccable, our server Anastasia was the best and went out of her way to make us feel special !! Can't wait to come back

The food was unexpected, unique and outstanding. We tried five dishes and all were delicious. I would highly recommend the potato, leek and spinach soup. It was even more delish than anticipated, and you can always tell the quality of a chef by their ability to master a soup with layers of flavour!

It was absolutely magnificent from the second I entered the building. the hospitality was amazing from the great to seating me to overall experience to my exit. It is is five star. Chef Angelo really knows What he's doing he is presenting culinary excellence with five star class can't wait for the other two restaurants in Palm Springs.

Good was good, service was good but it would have been nice for the waiter to let us know that the “sides” were LARGE (more family style) ..... we ordered way too much. VERY noisy.

We stayed at the JW Marriott, and had breakfast at Tia Carmen the breakfast thought we would try dinner. The food was awful. We ended up paying $250 for four people and no one liked their meal. The restaurant says that they use all fresh i ingredients but the drinks were really bad and the food was ridiculously expensive, and we were given hardly any for our entrées.

Unique and exquisite ambiance with food and drink presentation that matched. The flavor could have been bolder, almost like the chef was holding back. This is Arizona, we can definitely handle the heat and visitors expect it. Everything was very fresh, bright and as I said before - stunning- Iron chef caliber presentation. A little heavy handed on the grated cheese - overpowered a great salad and crispy potatoes. The Tuna crudo is good for those who may not like raw fish but would like to try something similar- if you do love a sashimi grade tuna - this may be a let down- the broth was great though. Great for those with dietary restrictions (most dishes are gluten free) and good of the chef to accommodate my daughter's dairy and egg allergy. Drinks were fantastic- well balanced and fun cocktails; great non-alcoholic options as well. Given the high ceilings and stone theme, the space does get loud with echos - definitely needs sound absorption. We would have liked to hear our server (and each other ) better. We will go back for sure to explore the menu further and have more of the best plantain snack and avocado dish we have ever had.
