Without a doubt, the food at Tia Carmen was great. Creative, new, delicious. What diners should know, however, is that this is a very busy, FAMILY restaurant. There were so many children there. And it didn't help we sat outside where there was a children's dance party going on next to the restaurant, complete with over-hyped staff on microphones -- ideal for children/families, not so much for two adults looking for a nice dining experience to celebrate our 33rd anniversary.
The food and ambience were fantastic! The service was somewhat lacking... the food runner would just slide the plates down in front of us, not really caring about how the plates were displayed. Towards the end of our courses, I believe the FOH got impatient with us and decided to serve our desserts while my date was still working on her entree. I wish staff would tell people about the cool artwork made of chiles and spices!! It's such a cool talking point for people to experience.
Went for AZ Chef's Week $66 @ person - Great Selection- Fabulous Presentation, Excellent Quality & Jessica was a Wonderfully Attentive & Kind Server - Bartenders for Happy Hour were Terrific too! Ambience & Design Inside & Patio are Devine! Valet is Free with stamped validation from Host. You wont be sorry 🍽️
