Just left VaBene. Awesome food & wonderful service! I had the Risoto with shrimp & scallops & my other half had the lamb shanks. Both dishes were delicious! We also had the Happy hour appetizers, I had fried zucchini & he had the meatballs. Loved them both! I especially enjoyed my chocolate martini! Our server Riya was attentive while also allowing us time to consider our choices! We will definitely be back sooner rather than later! Definitely a local treasure!
One of the best date night / celebration meal spots in Ahwatukee. The food is delicious—more like my Italian family’s homemade cooking than anywhere else. We’ve eaten here many many times and are never disappointed by the quality of the food or the atmosphere, both of which are excellent. Everything’s a chain in Ahwatukee, but Va Bene is an original and a gem.
We’ve been going here for years, mainly during happy hour because of the half price appetizers, like clams, mussels, calamari and antipasto. They’re no longer half price, which is fine. All good things come to an end. We ordered off the new happy hour menu, zucchini and ravioli to test. It was a huge disappointment. Frozen stuff poured out of a bag and into a deep fryer and then overcooked. We didn’t finish it.
