This place is great! The food, drinks and coffee were amazing, the service was exceptional, the location is off the beaten path, and they have a Red Ryder BB gun. LOL! This is definitely a place to go for a quiet and delicious meal. Great job, everyone! I will make sure to come back when I'm in the area. Thank you!

This diner is located in a remodeled home in the historic Garfield neighbourhood of Phoenix. They specialise in local and fresh foods, but mainly good ol' US comfort food. My friend was visiting from Sydney, so took her here and we both loved it. I had the Big Jim, basically fried chicken, bacon, cheese on a biscuit. It was just delicious, and I loved the way they melted the cheddar into one half of the biscuit. The biscuit was fresh and not too crumbly; the chicken as good as any fried chicken I've had. We also had the regular mac + cheese. This was sinfully good. She and I shared the jackfruit fries, which I didn't like as much as my friend did. I just have not acquired a taste for jackfruit, and this was heavy. The mustard-based BBQ sauce I didn't think paired well with it either. My friend ordered the No Way José burger. I tried some, and it was fantastic. I would order that sometime when I am not getting a Big Jim. It's a small and chirpy joint, with a handful of booths inside and a larger dog-friendly patio area in the garden. There is also a bar/soda counter with stools. Parking is on-street, so if it's busy you might have to park and walk a bit. But at least it is free, unlike a lot of places on nearby Roosevelt Row. The servers are all very good, very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

We ate here for the first time today. It's been on my list for a while now. Very delicious! Great atmosphere. Every one of the staff members here are kind and welcoming. They live up to their name for sure. Definitely recommend!

Last night, one of my friend from Phoenix, to whom I came by to spend our weekend together, took me to his favorite restaurant of the town. I had two things, pulled pork fries and fried green tomato sandwich. The pulled pork fries were incredible. My fried green tomato sandwich was also delicious. All thanks to my friend taking me to this not only this amazing delicious restaurant but to a lovely atmosphere. Now it's my favorite spot too and I'm definitely coming again.

What an 'off the beaten track', wonderful 40s-50s Diner experience! This is a must try!
The ambiance, staff, and awesome menu (with a bar) is worth it, regardless of the occasion! I met a lot of 'regular's' - for years!
Quick Note: there is parking behind the restaurant!!! 😉

I stopped by Welcome Diner for breakfast and had an amazing experience! The biscuits and gravy were absolutely delicious—fluffy, buttery biscuits smothered in rich, savory gravy with just the right amount of spice. It was the perfect comfort food to start my day.

The coffee was also fantastic—bold, smooth, and exactly what I needed. The service was friendly and welcoming (fitting for the name!), and the cozy, retro vibe of the diner made the meal even more enjoyable.

If you're looking for a great Southern-style breakfast in a laid-back atmosphere, Welcome Diner is a must-visit. Can't wait to come back and try more of their menu!

The Welcome Diner on a small shady street in sunlit Phoenix is an absolute delight ! First look is a large and very colorful outdoor dining area protected from the Phoenix heat by wonderful shade trees all leading to the pleasantly quirky indoor dining room. But the very best part is the wonderful menu and gracious hospitality. We dined on a Southwestern variation of poutine followed by a Fried Green Tomato sandwich and crisp green salad. The food was wonderful…only to be bested by the unbelievably delicious salted chocolate pie which was truly ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If in Phoenix don’t miss this wonderful restaurant.

Great diner. We ate outside, the weather was perfect. You order at a window and they bring it to you. They have tables and bar seating around outside.
