I cannot recommend this place. All the food was lukewarm, the beans were undercooked and crunchy, the corn was over cooked. The meat would have be alright if they were served hot and not warm.
We came to Show Low for hiking and ended up eating there two nights in a row. The first night we both got pulled pork with french fries and a coconut cream pie. All of it was delicious so we decided to eat there a second night and got a chicken sandwich, barbecued pulled chicken, french fries and strawberry pie and peanut butter chocolate pie. This place was so good. We will eat here every time we come to Show Low.
I’ve been coming to Grumpy Jakes for 20 years, and that was at their first location. The truly REAL thing I can say is, in 20 years when thinking about the food and service, the two words that comes to mind are: CONSISTENCY and EXCELLENCE! And all done in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Such a pleasure eating here!
