Excellent food. Some of the best in Tucson!
Great Tacos on Tuesday.
The food was good. The restaurant is in an older building and has a diner feel. Not bad. The ding on the service is because this was our first time here and we were asked if we wanted chips & salsa without being told they were not complementary. We paid $4 and ended up leaving most of them. We expected only a few and got a big bowl. They also charge extra for using a credit card...again without telling you...not good.

El Coronado Family Restaurant is a well-known Mexican eatery, offering authentic cuisine at reasonable prices. The establishment is recognized for its delicious steak picado and eggs, while some dishes, like potatoes, could use further refinement. The charming 1960's cafe ambiance creates an ideal setting for breakfast. The well-seasoned steak, perfectly cooked eggs, and standout salsa enhance the overall dining experience. The colorful southwestern decor and TVs add to the comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere.
The restaurant is praised for its efficient and friendly service. Customers have appreciated the attentive waitstaff, and one reviewer noted the kindness of a particular waitress. Many diners have expressed their satisfaction with the reasonable pricing, with one stating that the huevos rancheros is "the bomb" for just $10. However, the restaurant has faced some criticism regarding its inconsistent hours and lack of communication, which has caused inconvenience for some visitors. Additionally, some customers feel that offering free chips and salsa could attract more regulars. Despite this, the restaurant remains a beloved spot in the community, with many looking forward to returning for dishes like tostadas and bean burros.
