The food was good. The restaurant is in an older building and has a diner feel. Not bad. The ding on the service is because this was our first time here and we were asked if we wanted chips & salsa without being told they were not complementary. We paid $4 and ended up leaving most of them. We expected only a few and got a big bowl. They also charge extra for using a credit card...again without telling you...not good.
We were just passing through town and looking for a place to eat something local and truly delicious when we happened to find El Coronado Family Restaurant. What a wonderful surprise it turned out to be!

I haven't eaten here in over 10 years because it's one of those quiet Hometown restaurants tucked away downtown. We stopped eating out as much also but a friend gave out gift cards for local businesses for Christmas which I will start doing also, it helps everyone!
