This restaurant was great until it was not. Sushi was good until I was eating and saw a cockroach run by my feet. So beware before eating here that this is not normal behavior for customers to see a cockroach run by their feet while eating food. Please have your restaurant checked by a local health agency or have some sanitation policies in place to ensure that this does not happen again and ruin someone’s meal.
Visiting from out of town, and was greeted by nice people. It is very clean, clean tables, no sticky seats, TV, and overall a 5/5 area. Service was great, and food was out in less than 10 mins. Food was delicious my dad even got seconds ! Very much recommend.

The food was the worst thing I’ve ever had. My friend and I got ramen and were very disappointed. Our pork was not done, eggs were cold, and the noodles were crunchy. We tried to tell them that the food was disgusting and we couldn’t eat it but the did not care. My other friend got the lotus chicken and it was so slimy and undercooked. Please do not eat here or you will be sick and waste your money!!!!

I love this place. Best Teriyaki sushi bowl ever. All their sushi rolls are very very good and happy hour has the best value for your buck anywhere in Scottsdale. $4 appetizers!!!!!!!!!
Small quite place. Food and service are okay but not a place to go for a quick bite to eat.

I recently ate at Sasaki Sushi and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience. We were greeted by our server, Giana, who was very friendly and gave a great first impression.
However, when I approached the sushi chef with a curious question, I was met with a sarcastic and condescending response, essentially being told that if I wanted “fancier” sushi I should go somewhere else. I was shocked by the attitude and lack of professionalism, especially since the chef’s appearance was unkempt and did not give off the impression of cleanliness or care.
When my sushi roll arrived, I was even more disappointed—it was extremely small, barely the size of a quarter. On top of that, the menus were noticeably dirty, and the walls near the booths were unclean as well.
Overall, Giana’s kindness was the only bright spot of the visit. Between the poor customer service from the chef, lack of cleanliness, and low-quality sushi, I would not consider coming back.

Unassuming sushi and dinner spot. The sushi is great as are the rolls - try the Dragon Roll! Happy Hour makes it a very reasonable spot to enjoy - we have been several times and have NOT been disappointed!

Ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl. Didn't realize it had tempura and I have a severe gluten allergy.
I sent it back and offered to get a more expensive allergy friendly item I can eat.
Waiter said the manager refused the comp and still asked if I wanted the dragon roll. I said no, I'm good. Paid 20 bucks for food I can't eat and didn't even get to try the sushi. Disappointing.
Not to mention the waiter was standing at the bar watching me eat and making me uncomfortable....
No wonder I was the only one in the restaurant at 6 PM.

This is a hidden gem. Small staff but they are on it. Nice quiet off the main strip of Old Town Scottsdale. Enters into the Civic Center Park right across from the Performing Arts Center. Perfect for date night with out the arrogance of the bigger Sushi Houses. Mt. Fuji and Flaming Dragon are the bomb. And yes, Miso and spring rolls are perfected.

Sasaki Sushi & Bar is quaint and purposeful. It’s décor is simplistic, nondescript and to the point, nothing out of the ordinary and very understating. Although not bad, I wouldn’t go as far as to say very good either when it comes to their mainstays of Nigiri, Sushi, Noodle, Sashimi, Udon and Rice Dishes. They all seem satisfactory. Our crew at the table fixated on the core of their offering, which surprisingly did not offer a huge selection, and the assortment not contributing any extraordinary taste or uniqueness. We went for the California Rolls, typical, standard and run of the mill. The warm Edamame in the pod, barely seasoned with salt and sesame oil. The Tonkotsu Ramen bowl with pork and seaweed, bland and using extremely narrow and what seemed like chewy undercooked noodles. Albeit their renditions of Tuna, Albacore and Shrimp Nigiri and Sashimi were good, it didn’t dispel the aforementioned experience. For our overall consensus, I would call Sasaki Sushi & Bar a community Japanese Dive Bar with some amount of pizazz. Cold drinks, decent Saki, offering some Japanese staples and a nonobtrusive atmosphere.
