This was the “must” of our visit. I was so excited and wanted to love it. Table was ready a little early, server was lovely, ambience was cool. Duck fried rice, tableside guacamole, steak skewer all solid. The pork belly app was not cooked enough so ended up extra fatty. Shared pork tacos and chorizo porchetta - both subpar. The pork was swimming in a too sweet, overwhelming glaze / sauce that just ruined the dish in our opinion. The pork itself absorbed none of the glaze...
It is very energetic inside, but the tables are close to each other as they have always been and my wife and I prefer to sit at the bar. However, the air conditioning was on near the bar so bring a wrap or long sleeves if you sit there. This place is still good. We had some kind of creative taco that was the most expensive taco on the menu and it was terrible. Yes it was pretty to look at, but it was two-mini cold tacos. Cold by design, but that was not explained to me when ordered....
Our server was very good. He did his best to make sure we ordered safely for my food allergy. 3 stars because our table for two was a hate on one side and a space on the bench that ran along about 10 tables on the other. It was odd ... my seat was centered in an uncomfortable crevice between sections. I believe the kitchen didn't do very well about accommodating my gluten-free needs - got sick which is a rare thing.
