I’m no stranger to Torchy’s (discovered it in Houston right before I moved to the valley almost ten years ago), so I was excited to see it make its way out west. The food was great, but beyond that the staff was friendly and very kind. My partner forgot to nix an ingredient on his tacos (which was our fault) and the server offered to remake the tacos. We are one and done as well. The portions were so small. The food was mediocre. The prices were high for the portion size. I just saw a commercial for the bowls and it was overflowing with ingredients. False advertising at its best. My husband’s bowl was not even HALF full. Very disappointing.
We tried the new Surprise, Az location because we love Torchy’s. The restaurant was extremely busy on a Saturday night and table seating was limited. I sat down with my two children like every other mother and family were doing while my husband ordered our food. The waitress, Shawna ran up to my table to yell at me that I wasn’t allowed to sit down because I didn’t have a tracker yet. She was so loud that other tables turned to watch her.
