I love Café Lalibela for its warm, relaxing ambiance and authentic Ethiopian fare. The injera is always fresh, and the staff greet you like family. It’s one of those hidden gems where I take friends when I want something special.

Clean. Good service. First or second time trying Ethiopian food.

The mild combination plate had two meats with the texture and taste reminiscent of a beef stew. I did not like the green beans, but I imagine it was good if you like Ethiopian food.

The bread you scoop the food up with was kind of spongy. I had the impression it was supposed to be that way. It did not have any taste.

I would go back.

Cafe Laibela is an absolute gem for anyone craving authentic Ethiopian cuisine. From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant has a cozy, family-style feel with welcoming staff. The food is nothing short of amazing. Each dish is rich in flavor, perfectly spiced, and beautifully presented on traditional bread. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Ethiopian food or trying it for the first time, Cafe Laibela delivers an unforgettable experience with both its cuisine and atmosphere.

One of our few go to places in the valley! Food is consistently delicious, service is always on point, and I feel good after eating there! Plus such a nice family owned business. We always go to their vegan buffet on the last Sunday of the month, and really appreciate them for having so many great vegan options!

I went to this restaurant after my Atana head spa treatment. I saw this restaurant going in and was curious about the food they served. After I searched them up online I realized they had Ethiopian food. I’ve never had it prior so I decided to check out the menu and pick out a couple items. I walked into the restaurant and met with a less than enthusiastic woman. She did not smile and she was not gracious. I ordered the Doro wat and Gomen. I drive home with the food and ate it at home. The Doro wat/stew was not packaged well. It spilled into the bag. I was told the bread or Tef was supposed to be delicious. I thought it was flimsy and sour. The Doro wat did not look appetizing the flavor was ok, a bit bitter. Gomen was basically just collard greens and it was mediocre. The next day my stomach was hurting terribly. After this experience I’ve written off Ethiopian food completely. I will never eat it again.

We adopted our daughter for Ethiopia, and this is one of our favorite places for our family. We chose to celebrate her 16th birthday here and had a wonderful experience as always.
They were also able to verify that we had the correct Amharic for a tattoo she wanted celebrating her adoption and Ethiopian heritage.

This place has changed so much. Staff used to be happy to see you. This time I was barely tolerated. Food isn't the same as well.

I usually go to Lalibela every week to buy food and take it home, each time I go there the receptions or the servers are so rude and have bad attitude, they never smile or treat the customers with respect. As usual I went there his week the lady was so rude impolite and has no manners that is not good for business at all. I will never go there again I am done and tired of seeing those unhappy Ethiopian faces.
