I’ve been all over the place eating Vietnamese food (including Saigon) and this place is at the top of its game. Everything I tried was above the rest. In a small unassuming strip mall location, don’t miss out on a culinary delight!
We are from the Philippines, and we were in Tempe for a couple of weeks in early August 2024. We enjoyed the food in Viet Shack twice (!) during our short stay. Very memorable was their fried chicken… it was huge! … crispy on the outside, moist and juicy on the inside.

I got the grilled pork banh mi and it was phenomenal! Meat was marinated and full of flavor, the bread had a beautiful flaky crust, veggies were crisp and fresh. Definitely a no frills hole in the wall with great service but the prices were extremely reasonable for the quality of food. Paid less than $10 for my bahn mi.
