This might be one of the best restaurants in Tucson. The egusi with goat and fufu is an all timer, the meat is so deliciously tender and just the thought of the fufu is making my mouth water. I also tried the sauce d’arachide (the peanut sauce), also with goat, and it might be even better. Couldn’t ask for better service either, it feels like being in a family member’s kitchen, chill vibes and a cool escape. I will be back!
What an amazing restaurant with wonderful staff. I have been planning to go here for a while now, but I always line up my time passing through Tucson to be off. I was able to practice my very out-of-date highschool français, and they were courteous to bear with me, haha. The food was delicious and up to par with the West African food my friends from Ghana and the Cote d'Ivoire have shared with me. Thank you!
First time eating at Alaifa, after craving African cuisine, for some time. I got there right after it opened and had my choice of seating. I ordered the lunch special red sauce with rice and chicken (kedjenou) and ate that there, plus I got a togo order of jollof rice and chicken. The Kedjenou was flat out delicious.
