The service was quick and excellent, with thorough explanations of dishes and attentiveness to needs. A free dessert was provided for the birthday celebrant. All but one of our courses was excellent, particularly the porchetta; the mushroom skewers, however, were rubbery. Be prepared for a sizeable bill.

Sat at the counter, chose "Pick for us" from the menu, and got one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. The staff was all excellent, the food was incredibly creative and the ingredients were incredibly high quality and almost all locally sourced. I have paid twice as much for meals of half the quality. You cannot go wrong.

It was a perfect date night spot. The food is well thought out, well-sourced, delicious. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Great meal, our group really enjoyed sampling/sharing/discussing the small plates. Staff was excellent. Love watching the activity via the open kitchen concept. This was are 2nd visit. We'll be back again!

As always, the food was so interesting and flavorful. It's fun to eat foods I wouldn't know how to cook at home. We always enjoy our meal.

One of our restaurants. Have been there several times and it never disappoints. Great food, cocktails and service. Cant wait to go back.

Incredible food. Very different. I had to look up some of the foods to understand what I was eating. We ordered 7 plates and we were stuffed when done. They don't have an online menu but don't be afraid of that. You'll definitely enjoy your meal, especially if you're open to a new experience.

Food and service were excellent as always! The restaurant was busy and everyone seemed to be having a good time. The chef does the most creative and flavorful thing with all kinds of unusual mushrooms, and the bread and meat dishes were amazing. The umami Mexican chorizo dish was very tasty, most unusual and felt like exploring wild foods of the desert. I have one piece of advice: IF you happen to hate cilantro as much as I do, be sure to ASK if there is any cilantro in a dish, as the menu may not mention it. I happen to love butternut squash but couldn't force myself to each much because of the cilantro.

Fantastic food and drink. Did the "let us choose for you" option and received a 4 course meal of mostly speciality items not even on the menu.

Best spot for wine nerds in Tucson. Huge list and great space. Great little summer cave

It’s a quiet atmosphere with dim lighting. The bartenders are great. They explain you the options and give out nice recommendations

A totally pleasant experience! It was our first time there, but we will certainly be back! We were greeted warmly, our server was very attentive, and the food was truly a dining experience!

Expensive; b prepared for small servings, but a truly wonderful experience. Outstanding, unique food. Unique, very nice setting. Asked for a “quiet” table; we were seated in a corner booth by the window & we were actually able to converse in normal voices, a rare occurrence in restaurants these days. Perfect place to dine if you're attending something at 191 Toole! It's a 3 minute walk! Thank you, Bata. We'll b back!

Enjoyed our anniversary dinner here. First time dining at Bata and it was so great! Cocktails were really good. The service was fantastic and the food was creative. Really beautiful restaurant but not overdone. We decided to do the chef's choice and we were so glad that we did. Plenty of food, so many things to try and all of it really good. Probably the only thing that was just ok was the cucumber and melon salad because the melon seemed to have no sweetness or flavor to it. But everything else was delicious (and I wouldn't call the cucumber and melon bad). This had a very New York feel to it - in a really good way. I was a little skeptical at first since the menu changes so frequently and you just don't know what they are going to have, but I'm so glad I decided to give it a try. I would highly recommend - take the chance (a little adventurous), it's so worth it! I would definitely bring friends from out of town here and would definitely go back for dinner with my family. It showcases the local talent and food so well!

Best meal at a restaurant in a very long time. Fantastic dinning experience with creative food that tasted amazing. Service was spot on, the chef brought out our courses and explained each one.
