A totally pleasant experience! It was our first time there, but we will certainly be back! We were greeted warmly, our server was very attentive, and the food was truly a dining experience!
Expensive; b prepared for small servings, but a truly wonderful experience. Outstanding, unique food. Unique, very nice setting. Asked for a “quiet” table; we were seated in a corner booth by the window & we were actually able to converse in normal voices, a rare occurrence in restaurants these days. Perfect place to dine if you're attending something at 191 Toole! It's a 3 minute walk! Thank you, Bata. We'll b back!
Enjoyed our anniversary dinner here. First time dining at Bata and it was so great! Cocktails were really good. The service was fantastic and the food was creative. Really beautiful restaurant but not overdone. We decided to do the chef's choice and we were so glad that we did. Plenty of food, so many things to try and all of it really good. Probably the only thing that was just ok was the cucumber and melon salad because the melon seemed to have no sweetness or flavor to it. But everything else was delicious (and I wouldn't call the cucumber and melon bad). This had a very New York feel to it - in a really good way. I was a little skeptical at first since the menu changes so frequently and you just don't know what they are going to have, but I'm so glad I decided to give it a try. I would highly recommend - take the chance (a little adventurous), it's so worth it! I would definitely bring friends from out of town here and would definitely go back for dinner with my family. It showcases the local talent and food so well!
Best meal at a restaurant in a very long time. Fantastic dinning experience with creative food that tasted amazing. Service was spot on, the chef brought out our courses and explained each one.
From the moment we entered Bata we felt welcomed. The staff were friendly and professional. Our server was very clear and knowledgeable explaining the various flavor profiles of the menu options. The food was absolutely delicious and we can't wait for our next visit. Thank you for a great experience.
The restaurant is beautiful and the food is really good. This is our 5th time at Bata and always really good but this time we tried the chef's special which is like Omakase experience in Japan. The Chef's did a good job however the courses felt rushed which we didn't care for. For Tucson if anyone wants a great meal with flavors their not use to I would recommend Bata. The price is kind of high but imo well worth it. Cocktails were top notch - my wine was mediocre but you they do have a huge selection of wines to chose from.
This was probably my 5th visit to BATA. We sat at the bar and had a delicious meal. The flavors of each dish did not disappoint....again. The cod over chickpea salad with buerre blanc was a stand out.
My mom and I sat at the bar for dinner and it was amazing! We let them choose our meal and it truly was the best experience. We shared so much food that all tasted amazing. The workers were incredibly kind and attentive. The cocktails were great as well, I absolutely loved the zero proof whiskey cocktail!
My partner, I did their prefixed menu for the evening. It was plenty of food and was absolutely excellent. The ingredients chosen were fresh and very appropriate for the season. It hit our pallets like Gould! I certainly enjoyed my two glasses of wine suggested by the waiter.
Fantastic food and unique beer options! Enjoyed the history of the fermenting process! Pick the chef's choice option for diner if sharing with someone! Everything was incredible!

Eva was an excellent server. She was friendly, knew the menu thoroughly, and was very patient with us answering all our questions. Her recommendations were spot on. The food interesting and delicious, especially the Desert Pearl lions mane mushrooms. Highly recommend!
Dining at Bata made us feel like we were back in New York again. Oliver, our waiter, made a great wine suggestion, and explained the menu well. Each dish was creative, but not too rich. We especially liked the tuna crudo and the pork carnitas. We much appreciated the description of each dish by the clearly passionate chefs.
My mother and I visited to celebrate our birthdays together and overall, the experience was fantastic. From the moment we were sat, staff was attentive and flow of service ran smooth throughout our time there. We chose from the pre-fix menu and every dish was coursed out perfectly, even if one ingredient wasn't our favorite, the entirety of the dish was still so fresh and creative. Our server, Oliver, was genuine and made quality recommendations. With it being Sonoran restaurant week and peak hours on a Friday evening, we were very impressed.
Good friends told us about Bata and said we had to go. We were not disappointed. The food was outstanding and our server Brooke was delightful. It's a bit pricey, but well worth the trip to Downtown for a special evening. We will go back.
Creative, carefully crafted art that feeds the body, mind, and soul. We did the special 9-course tasting as part of Sonoran Restaurant Week. The wine pairing was perfectly done. We would not have to think twice about returning.
