Went for Valentine's Day for both my date and I's first time at Bata. Super friendly service from the start and my server (Chloe I believe) was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. The lemon tartlets were our favorite! Great experience in a cool and refreshing environment that isn't offered much in Tucson. Great job - would recommend 10/10.
This was our second time at BATA, which was, again, a fun experience in a comfy, open, attractive venue, with creative cuisine samplings. Some small plate dishes were a bit too spicy-hot for us, but other foods helped to damper down the fire. Loved the smokey-tasting beets, Malawach bread with the yogurt flavored and sweet preserve accompaniment. For the price per plate, we preferred more quantity with the albacore, versus the four thin slices presented. Halibut was extremely tender, with butter poached method, and the strawberry sorbet with caramel and white chocolate crunchies was so rich and yummy. Service was consistently excellent, with descriptions of each plate explained to us by a varied staff. Don't know if we'll return for a third experience, but highly recommend it for a first and second.
Remains our favorite go-to restaurant whenever we want to celebrate a special event or just want to dress up and go out for an amazing meal in Tucson.
Our new favorite date spot. Food was incredible, high class ambiance and the bar downstairs is great as well.
One of the best meals I've had in ages. The menu was creative, seasonal, local and made me eat things I would never, like steak tartare and I loved it! The radicchio ceasar amazing, the lemon curd tart -yumm! The steak - off the hook. All the presentations gorgeous. Service top notch and spot on. Cocktails and wine great - and a nice wine list! Beautiful space and lovely staff all the way around.
We had an exceptional and celebratory meal. The carefully curated wine list, the excellent bourbon options, the attentive and very capable staff, and the creative menu were all outstanding. Every dish was delicious and memorable. We will back again.
Thank you for providing a beautiful birthday dinner for my fave person! The chef's choice menu was exemplary, five stars would come again.
I only come to Tucson once a year and the last time I came we had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. This year was not the same at all. The service was fine but the food was not the highest quality. It was if a second team was following a menu but not with great care. The meatballs were dry, the salad was over dressed and the steak tar tar was very salty. The real disappointment was that the bok choy was not throughly washed and had sand in the food. The vibe is cool there, but the food is not as good as it should be in a good restaurant.
All the things I love in a dining-out experience: expert, knowledgeable service; quality glassware, a cloth napkin, (Dang, it chaps me to have to write this, but I visited another Tucson restaurant just the night before with a recent James Beard nomination, and received silverware wrapped in a paper napkin with an adhesive paper seal around it. Yuk.) great lighting, plenty of room at the table and around the table. And that's before the food arrived. Delicious, inventive, well-presented.
Caitlin our server was wonderful, good delicious (we did the chef's choice option) and ambiance great! Love BATA and Batabar!

The flavor profiles are not very good. Only one of the five dishes was enjoyed by everyone at the table—the squash bread. Everything else was poorly done. I will not return and will not recommend it to friends.
We sat at the bar and our server was the bartender Andy. He was so knowledgeable, attentive and professional. Our meal was exquisite and nutritious. A truly memorable experience.
Easily the best bar in Tucson. Jam on Toast was an out of this world drink, complex and perfectly balanced. Top 10 drink all time for me. Lakes and Lagoons also insanely well crafted, super super flavorful. Blueberry Negroni was also very well done.
Burgers were delicious, but should come with fries for that price, a little overpriced without.

Had the "let us pick for you" menu, which included some things not on the written menu. Everything was delicious, and I would definitely do that again. Service was impeccable. Staff were attentive and so helpful. I can't say enough good things.
This was an all around fantastic evening. We did the chef's choice tasting menu which did not disappoint. The level of detail spent on each item was apparent. All the accolades given to Chef Tyler Fenton and his crew are well deserved!
