What a treat! I'd had their food at a catered event before but brought co-workers and we had a wonderful time and all ate too much as the food was delicious and overly generous. Can't wait to go back.
We took an out of town guest here for a “Tucson Experience.” It was not busy but service was slow. The server advised our guest to order what was an expensive menu item that was not nearly as good as our burritos. We got someone else’s check (that was sorted). Overall not the El Charro I expected.
Finally made it to the oldest Mexican restaurant in the US. Turns out summer is a great time to eat at El Charro as the snowbird crowd keeps it packed during their season here.
Had a taco platter, with an assortment of six tacos, and a green Chile beef burrito that was delicious. We'll probably visit the Oro Valley location next, but downtown has an authentic charm about it.
