The place was cool. The food and drinks weren't good, but the waitress was awesome. We got in without reservations. Our bill, with tip, was almost $300.00. I got a cool water drink, and it wasn't good. We ordered 5 prime rib dinners. They were supposed to be 3 different sizes and 2 different doneness, but they all came out the same size and the same doneness. They had no flavor and weren't tender. The tamale pie wasn't good either. It was dry and tasted like a plain tamale with canned corn. It seemed old and dry. We're not going back. The staff was excellent though.

It was good......
Absolutely great place. Very friendly staff, amazing prime rib, and great cowboy atmosphere.
njoyable rustic southwestern ranch ambience and friendly service. The prime rib was very good. It was evenly roasted, moist and flavorful. That said, there were some detractions from the overall dining experience, ones that are easily fixed, low cost and big pay off to the restaurant and diners. See below.
- Warm the rolls served and ensure they are moist
- Ensure the lettuce in the salad is leafy and green, not just stems
- Don't over thin the salad dressing
- Warm the entree plates
- Wait staff needs to ensure the add-ons and sides are hot when served
- Lastly, the wine list was good, but have a high-end whiskey list. True lovers of great beef also like comparably great whiskeys, particularly out west. This would be a plus to the overall experience and profitable.
Very yummy food.
I’m super sad to write this review and I want to start by saying - our server was incredibly nice and attentive. Sadly, our experience was overwhelmingly disappointing. My husband and I have been coming to El Corral for years - we even held our rehearsal dinner and my mom’s 60th birthday there. Tonight we visited as a family to celebrate my husband’s birthday and were terribly disappointed with the food. My steak was ordered med-rare and came out VERY rare. They threw my steak back on the grill, and it returned more done on the outside but still rare on the inside. I should have sent it back again, but honestly didn’t want to complain. The worst part was not my meal, it was my sons kids meal. He ordered the kids chicken fingers and they arrived frozen on the inside - like legit frozen. My sweet (yet oblivious) boy took several bites before telling me that they were really, really cold. When I inspected, I found that they were completely frozen on the inside. They made him a new plate, but my husband and daughter had finished eating when the food arrived. The manager came at the end of our meal and comped his meal. She also presented us with a free dessert next time we visit, which was nice. But, I honestly didn’t feel like she really cared all that much about the blunder. I’m not sure that a free dessert make up for the potential salmonella he might have been given… I can’t say that I want to return for that free dessert.

We first ate here multiple times over 40 years ago. Everything was great then, I'm happy to say we returned and everything is great today!
Prime rib is the specialty, and as you can see it's perfectly medium rare - edge to edge!
The only thing I miss from years ago, they used to offer a Steak Pie (like a chicken pot pie but made with steak pieces and served in a cast iron skillet with the dough on top).
Maybe they'll bring them back....hint hint.

Love this piece of Tucson history. Prime rib is always amazing, get it medium rare and thrown on the grill for a few seconds each side! Service is always excellent! Keep Tucson businesses alive!

As I walked through the ranch doors, I was greeted by friendly staff, and served quickly. The warm ambiance was enhanced by gas lanterns and portraits of ranchers which evoked a sense of history and authenticity.
I began my meal with corn fritters dipped in prickly pear sauce, a delightful combination to start the meal with. The highlight was undoubtedly the prime rib. It was cooked well, and the horseradish and steak sauce complemented it nicely.
The salad was a bit underwhelming and lacked the freshness I had hoped for, and the adobe mud pie fell short of expectations. Despite these minor shortcomings, the overall experience was enjoyable and memorable, thanks to the exceptional service, inviting atmosphere, and standout main course.

The Atmophere and Tamale pie are the two best things about this venerable establishment. Got there right as they opened at 5pm.was seated within 5 min. ordered a burger medium. It came well done. I wasn't going to bother trying to track down the pretentious and overly cutesy young waitress. Table next to me had their steak sent back because it was overdone.Had salad with their signature Honey Italian dressing. Dressing was good albeit sparsely dripped. Too many brown and white iceberg pieces.little green. They dont make the group salad in front of you anymore. Probably consequences of the scamdemic.Definately not what it was years ago but what is nowadays.

We went last year and the food was great. This year my filet was overdone and replaced but tasted like regular sirloin. My husband order the prime rib and ribs that were dry and prime rib was chewy even cooked medium rare. We were disappointed. The desserts were good and server was great.

Amazing food, some of the best prime rib I've tried. The tamale pie was next level, and the ribs were extremely tender. Jason was extremely friendly accommodating our dietary requests. Atmosphere top notch with decor from old Americana
Would visit again in a heartbeat
