Great atmosphere and great food. Worth a drive to discover one of Tucson's hidden gems!

The owner spared no expense on the leather bound menus, that had lovely descriptions. The drinks are great, and the owner brought pints of beer that were so full I thought he had levitated them to the table... not spilling a drop. The chicken I ordered looked like it was either boiled or made in a microwave, with glue-like mashed potatoes beneath it. The vegetables also seemed as though they were microwaved. So disappointed that my wife and I will never return.

Great hamburger! No need for condiments. It was delightful. Slightly slow service, but they were short staffed. Very apologetic and earnest about it. Will definitely try it again!

The food is good, but very understaffed. Bar tender was the waiter and probably one cook.

We loved it! Excellent service, great food and competitive prices.

Ugh! Food was good but just ok, poor service. Been twice in the past year. Both times have been disappointing.

I have tried several times to like this place to support a local business and keep getting disappointed which is the definition of insanity!!! I have too many complaints to mention but I finally had the last straw and won't be going back unless I have been diagnosed demented. I even watched people walk out that weren't being waited on or even approached.

Our family met here for dinner. 2 from San Francisco. 1 from Los Angeles and 2 local Tucsonians. The place was really quiet and kind of spooked me when I first arrived. We were met by a cool fellow who sat us. He was warm and knowledgable. They had Sculpin on tap at the bar, which i thought was cool, so I had that. The meat loaf my aunt had was decent but a bit soft for my liking. My uncle wolfed down whatever he had. I've forgotten what it was as he ate it so fast. He just kept chewing and smiling and looked like he was enjoying it. My mom and I had the pasta and both of us agreed it was tasty. It brought up stories of Italy so that seemed like a good thing. I think my step dad had a chicken item but i can't remember what it was. He did eat it all. He is not a man of many words so again he seemed happy when he said "it was good." This is a cool place worth visiting. Thank you Jackson. See you next time i'm in Tucson.

We had a great dinner there last night. There were 6 of us visiting from California. Two had the meat loaf. Outstanding. I had the hamburger. In my top 5 all time. Peter was very knowledgable about the menu, explained every dish, allowed for substations, and never wrote down our order. Everything was served as ordered. Good wine list, many beers on tap.. overall, a great dining experience.

I'm in Tucson for work this week and found Jacksons on a list of "hidden gems." The spicy meatballs and chicken quesadilla club were both delicious. Peter, the owner, was very helpful, his recommendations were appreciated, and he was a pleasure to chat with at the bar. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

The cooks are great , the owner is a drunken fool. Sad that good food can be ruined by an owner .

We opted for what my partner calls the "best kept secret on Tanque Verde" and I'm pleased he let me in on it. Jackson's is an oasis of class soaring quietly in a sea of mediocrity. The ambience is cool and minimalist, and the spicy marinara meatballs lived up to their name. The owner was wearing many hats the night we stopped in, but the service was still impeccable. The big screens were on but not blaring intrusively and the small touches (backlit bar, extensive wine list, paper menus, sparkling clean) make this an intimate East Side spot. I'll try the jalapeno meatloaf, which looks outrageous coming out of the kitchen, next time.

From the appetizer to the desert, it was outstanding!! Service was incredible, and the food was equally amazing. We tried the mozzarella appetizer, shared the ribeye (perfectly cooked to order @ medium rare) and finished it off with the lava cake. Everything was perfect! Definitely coming back again!!

This is just a review for happy hour - I'll visit for dinner and revise it. Jackson seems to be a well-kept secret in this little stretch of Tanque Verde, partly because their sign is small and nondescript, and partly because I have never seen them advertise. But, it's a delightful place for a happy hour. One of the nicest things about the space is the large, north-facing windows and beautiful views of the Catalina Mountains, so I recommend a table by the front door. The beer was cold (quite a few beers on tap) and the pulled-pork sliders were okay (a little over-cooked, but tasty). Rachel, the bartender, is delightful. My biggest criticism - which I see echoed elsewhere here - is that the space feels bland, and lacks an identity. There is no art on the walls, although there is plenty of space for it. Candles and flowers on the tables would soften the harsh, white dining room. A quick trip to HomeGoods and a few hundred dollars would make a big difference. But it's a comfortable, classy space and conveniently located for us east-siders.

Food was good, location is great but service horrible. My boyfriend had to get our silverware and serving plates. Fifteen minutes to take our order. Boxed our own food no change for the bill as she assumed her tip. Do better.
