Jackson Bar + Eatery

Our family met here for dinner. 2 from San Francisco. 1 from Los Angeles and 2 local Tucsonians. The place was really quiet and kind of spooked me when I first arrived. We were met by a cool fellow who sat us. He was warm and knowledgable. They had Sculpin on tap at the bar, which i thought was cool, so I had that. We had a great dinner there last night. There were 6 of us visiting from California. Two had the meat loaf. Outstanding. I had the hamburger. In my top 5 all time. Peter was very knowledgable about the menu, explained every dish, allowed for substations, and never wrote down our order. Everything was served as ordered. Good wine list, many beers on tap.. overall, a great dining experience.

I'm in Tucson for work this week and found Jacksons on a list of "hidden gems." The spicy meatballs and chicken quesadilla club were both delicious. Peter, the owner, was very helpful, his recommendations were appreciated, and he was a pleasure to chat with at the bar. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!
