This is a solid option for breakfast or lunch. I think they close at 2pm. I had beef fajitas meal and the portion with rice and beans was a hearty meal and very good, for $16, which was a good value. The meal came with a small but tasty complementary chips and hot salsa. Loved that!
The server was very nice, but the host/front desk guy was a bit stoic.
Very basic ambiance.

Looks can be deceiving and La Placita Cafe looks like a place you'd want to eat at.
There is a noticeable unfriendly vibe from the wait staff, it's simply unmistakable. We never felt warmly welcomed or remotely valued.
Food was good but certainly not great. Aggressive portion control. Decent pricing but it's relative to the small portions.
Our visit became a bizarre disappointing experience. Assuredly won't be returning.

We were excited to try this place after our neighbors raved about it. When we arrived there was only 1 party there. We waited for about 5 minutes before we were told to just find a place to sit, then a few more minutes for our server. Small bowl of chips and salsa almost 10 minutes later. For 4 people, we went thru chips fast. Our meal took several more minutes. We had to ask for more chips and salsa. Server never returned to table...only 3 parties including us. Then...
