The food was ok, but for first timers there for a 40th birthday celebration, it didn't feel really amazing for the overall price spent. To be fair, we also didn't get the full experience of the teppan grill, as we ended up dining in the bar area unexpectedly.
There is a happy hour in the bar so that was good, but it was still a high price point (even with that). We will have to go again & sit in the teppan area to get the full experience. The service was great, really helpful and insightful.

I recently visited Mr. An's, hoping to enjoy a great meal based on the many positive reviews I’d heard. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t quite live up to those expectations.
The quality of the food was lacking; I was looking forward to flavors that would pop, but what I got was rather bland. I’ve been to teppan tables all over the United States, and I was disappointed that this well-known spot in Tucson didn’t deliver the vibrant taste I was hoping for. For the price you pay per dish, I was shocked at how little you actually received.
As for the service, I sensed that our waitress was overwhelmed with her tables, which affected the quality of service she was able to provide. I understand that many restaurants are facing staffing challenges, but it still impacted my overall experience.
That said, I’m willing to give Mr. An's another chance. Next time, I plan to reserve a private table to see if that enhances the food and service experience. On a positive note, I did notice their sushi bar, and it looked incredible, definitely something I’d like to try on my next visit.
Overall, it wasn’t the experience I hoped for, but I’m open to trying again.

The food was just fine. The atmosphere was a bit chaotic, but that is the nature of a Japanese steakhouse. Mostly, I felt rushed. People were standing there waiting to take away my plates or drinks while I was still eating or drinking. It turned into a 30 minute meal from start to finish. So our two seats cost about three dollars a minute.

Average food, nothing special. Wife had the lobster, scallops.
I had steak and chicken. Steak was tough, not much flavor.

If you are there for the show, it's OK. I wouldn't go back for it.
The sushi and sashimi was below average quality and presentation for Tucson and more costly than many other around town.
The chopsticks were nice, though.

We were on vacation and stopped in to get some dinner. Our chef was friendly, fun, and highly skilled. I can't imagine being a chef performing throughout the night for people while maintaining an upbeat and friendly demeanor, but our chef made us feel special.
My steak was delicious and my wife's chicken was perfectly cooked. The fried rice was well prepared.
My only complaint would be how long it took to get our food. I would estimate that from the time we sat down to the time we had our food, it had to be about 70 minutes. So if you're hungry and want to eat within the hour of arrival, Mr. An's may not be the best choice. But if you have time to spare, this is a great place to go for Teppan. Highly recommended!

Valentine’s Day: First time taking my daughter to a Teppanyaki Grill. We spent $80 on the Baja Roll, Shrimp Teppanyaki with a Dr Pepper. Was a bit surprised to be charged an additional $10 fee for sharing noodles with my 2 year old. You pay for the production/chef fee, the quality/care is not fancy or fine dining in my experience.

The food was ok, The chef put more portions on the plates of the people’s (6 people =3 meals)who are sharing a plate than us who paid for a full meal . He was taking extra care of them. Where I used to live in Wilmington NC at a place called Hero Japanese steak the food tasted so much better and the portions were Larger. I wouldn’t go to Mr An again.

stay away from the n.y.strip steak. Overcooked and chewy tough.

it's alright, not the best teppanyaki I've been to. Service is great as you would expect, but the food was mid and the prices higher than expected, especially for AZ.
If you haven't experienced teppanyaki then yes I would recommend it, otherwise skip it.

Very good place to go out to eat with the fam. I went with my friends for her birthday on Sunday and I ordered the “Spicy tuna avocado with tempura.” It was really good except for the fact that I got food poisoning from the tuna. Don’t think I’ll be going back but I hope the rest of you guys enjoy it!

Teppon tables are dated. The chairs are about to fall apart. The food is over priced. No yum yum sauce. $2.50 up charge for fried rice. We've eaten in a ton of these places across the country, and this one is a solid three.
