I had high hopes for Mr Ken but it fell somewhat below my expectations. It was clean, the staff was attentive but the pulled pork was so drowned in saucethat I couldn't decide whether the meat came out of a fire grilled smoker or a kitchen smoker. I'll go back and try the ribs and mixed greens before I decide whether I'm right or wrong
I was in Tuscon for 2 nights on a work trip, looking for somewhere to eat for dinner. It must be kismet that I stumbled across a restaurant that goes by the same name as my grandpa, Mr. K! I'm always a bit suspicious of BBQ outside of SEC country, but from the smell outside, I knew something good was to be had. And of course, the chef is from the land of BBQ! (Arkansas/Louisiana... sorry, not sorry Texans!) I ordered a 3-meat plate as a sampler and it did not disappoint....
As much as I like to try new places when I'm traveling, this is one of the few places I make sure I go back to when I'm in Tucson. Burnt end sandwich and Koolaid it doesn't get much better than that.
