Ordered the Hawaiian BBQ mix today. I’ve been here 3 or 4 times before and had good experiences, which made this meal all the more disappointing. Without exaggeration, the beef was as tough as shoe leather—no matter how much I chewed, it just wouldn't break down (see picture). Honestly, it felt like a genuine choking hazard. I really hope management takes a look at quality control here, because I'd love to see them get back on track.
The food was excellent and they have large portions for the price. We sampled across the menu. My favorite was the musubi. Service was pretty lackluster. The cashier barely spoke. The soda machine was out of everything except the brisket teas. It wasn't even turned on when we got there. When I asked about it, since we had already paid for drinks, the cashier mumbled something and then went over to turn it on. I'd give them another try if they were closer but it's...
While our meals were cooked to order, serice was quick & friendly! Food portions were large! All of us took at least half our food home! Everyone got something different: kalua pig & cabbage, chicken katsu, seafood combo, & Kahu chicken. Everything was hot & delicious! The rice was perfect & mac salad was what I was expecting - Oahu Hawaiian BBQ did not disappoint!
