One of the very best neighborhood restaurants in Tucson. The entrees are huge: definitely big enough to share! Wine prices are also reasonable. Our dishes were very well prepared and more innovative than what we've seen at other Italian restaurants in Tucson.
Gavi is a foothills gem, I'm there regularly. The food is excellent, portions huge and prices reasonable for what you get and the quality. Our server Peter was very good, he had his hands full and moved with great efficiency and grace. The bartender Tess is a delight (I've known her for years). I don't usually rate restaurants but. First, the bread.....we have eaten at Gavi's for years and their bread was always great Italian bread. This was small French bread with no substance. Our friend ordered the standard house meat lasagna. She was served three flat large noodles with tough spinach, no ricotta cheese. It didn't even resemble lasagna.
