Finally! At looking last, I've finally found the local Starbucks replacement. The Americano is my drink and made no room, which means I enjoy it unadulterated. I'm tasting only the bean and the roast. So many other shops are bitter or sour. Raging Sage is smooth, balanced, caramel/nutty. Perfection.
Almost everything about this place is wonderful. Sadly, they no longer create scones for folks who can't digest dairy anymore. For scone lovers, the vegan muffin substitute isn't tempting. I wish they would buy vegan scones from Holden's Rise Above to meet more of their customers' needs. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy their dairy-free chai, incredible atmosphere and service.
This place is okay, but nothing special like I was led to believe. It was hyped up as a long-standing Tucson staple, with a quiet and comfortable atmosphere. But it was honestly just as loud and acoustically echoey as the big corporate chains. It's not bad by any means, but nothing to make it stand out as great either.
