dropped in after work to go check this place out, because it looked like a real Tucson original. The sandwich I got was two tilapia fillets, apparently hand dipped in panko, judging by their fresh appearance, flash fried and slapped onto a hamburger bun with a squirt of ketchup and a little bit of dill pickle. A little bit of lettuce or some shredded cabbage would have gone a long way in filling the sandwich out. another half a star taken away for any lack of hot sauce, which is unfortunate.

$10.60 double fish sandwich

I called to complain about my to go order but they have such a racket going on at that end the employee apologized and said she couldn’t hear me, at least she was courteous without a clue .
BUT BEWARE CHECK YOUR FOOD TEMPERATURE BECAUSE APPARENTLY THEY HAVE A NO WASTE POLICY AND SEND THE OLD,COLD DEAD FRIES OFF WITH THE TO-GO ORDERS,WHO CARES HUH?

The fish is not fresh. It comes from a frozen bag. There is nothing unique about the batter they use.

I'm an expat Brit who's been living here in the USA for 35 years. In those 35 years I've tried lots and lots of "fish & chips" in lots and lots of different restaurants, in lots and lots of different parts of the USA. This place is, BY FAR, the absolute worst version of fish & chips I've experienced in these 35 years. The "fish" was tasteless, dry as a bone. The "batter" was the same, tasteless and bone dry. The "chips" were kind of okay to start, but were stone cold within 10 minutes of sitting down. The crab "cakes" were unbelievably terrible, mostly batter with a tiny bit of crabmeat, and about the size of a large marble.

Shrimp are over breaded, My wife and I agree something had changed, we have been coming here since our parents brought us. not the same breading, Im a chef. And know the difference. Shrimp is not butterfly at all just cut in half, smaller from before and steak fingers are smaller, bland no flavor and burnt , way over priced for what they serve.

The fish was a little undercooked and the tarter sauce needed more pickles

Fish was great. Overkill on the fries
Steak fingers were really chewy. Should have some choice on condiments.

I didn't even know this place existed until this week.I'm glad I found out. $13.75 for a fish and shrimp combo isn't cheap, but you definitely get a good value for your buck. Generous portions, to say the least.
I do need to warn you that if you're in a wheelchair there is no ramp. This is an old building with a single step. When I got there with a chairbound friend, however , one of the employees came running out to help her enter the restaurant. Good people with food to match.

Vegetarian options: They do have a grilled cheese, and would probably be happy to add tomato or Lettuce. Nothing vegan.
