1.) The service was terrible. The waitresses were more concerned with sitting at table, surfing their phones. My food was left at my table and the next time someone checked on me was when I asked for the check.2.) The tuna roll was good. It was the only thing good about this place.3.) The salad was terrible. The lettuce was saturated with dressing like it had been sitting out for a while or sitting in a refrigerator pre-made.4.) The Tappan Chicken was awful!!! The chicken was rubbery and drench in sauce. The vegetables had a weird, salty taste to them. They didn’t taste like normal stir fry vegetables.5.) The water tasted like it came from the tap. Arizona water has a unique taste to it due to all the minerals. If it was filtered, it was done poorly.

Ok the sashimi was great but the portion size on the sushi roll was extremely small, like we got home and opened the box and laughed out loud because we were so confused at seeing the tiniest 5-piece roll. It literally looked like half a regular roll.

Let me first start by saying this was my second time at this restaurant. The 1st time was pre-Covid for a relatives birthday party. It was hard to judge the food since everything was pre-ordered. My 2nd visit, a couple of weeks ago was a not good. We ordered a shrimp tempura appetizer, a teriyaki chicken bento box, and a Katsu chicken plate. We specifically requested the appetizer brought before our meal. Yet everything came out at the same time. Leaving no room on the table to eat comfortably, things are falling off the table, including a bottle of soy sauce fell & broke. They never provided any small plates for the appetizer. Why bother, they must’ve figured we would just eat it as part of our meal. I personally got up and walked over to the wait-staff station to get our plates because no one ever came back to check on us after the meal was delivered. I went to wash my hands in the bathroom and had a to hold my breath. It had the strongest ammonia urine smell, it’s like the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned in years. It was worst than a stinky bathroom in a foreign country. (The kitchen is just right of the bathrooms). The teriyaki chicken was dry and rubbery, flavor was underwhelming. The California roll was so loosely rolled you couldn’t pick it up because it just fell apart. I’m giving them two stars because the shrimp tempura was good. With that atrocious smell coming out of the bathroom, lack of service and mediocre food, I’ll never be returning. That smell should probably be reported to the health department.

Nothing is good. The sushi was nasty. The ingredients used were not fresh, and most of the fish looked like raw dry chicken. The avocado looked like they dug that out of the garbage disposal.

Food is good, but the place is empty. Happy hour is nice but 1 dollar off plus a drink does not make the food worth it. The service was decent but it was a bit pricey.

I hope you like fish, because we are going underwater for todays review. Sushi Cortaro is the type of establishment which seems to defy the modern culinary epistemology. Enter through the doors of this revolutionary establishment and you immediately get the feeling that this is a liminal space, but simultaneously a place where you can freely express yourself. Sit down in one of the many chairs that populate this experimental new museum of gastronomy and read deeply through the avant-garde yet traditional menu. You may be surprised at some of the options like salmon sashimi and tuna sashimi, and other fish related foods, but remember this is a place where sushi is sold. I think its important to remember that this isn't the kind of place where jazz bands perform, its not the kind of place where you can throw peanuts on the ground. This place is more like the cinema than anything else. You enter this theater of cuisine so that you may be exposed to that which both shocks and delights, that which is both frightening and comforting simultaneously. The food here is like a film by Truffaut. It is pure artistic excellence that will leave you in tears, and have you coming back for more.
