I've been to the Barnyard at least a couple of dozen times over the course of the past few years, mostly during the cooler months. It has historically been a solid 4/5 restaurant, but I have to say my most recent experience wasn't great and I'm very irritated by the credit card convenience charge that is now being added. As if tipping culture wasn't bad enough, Barnyard is now among the first restaurants in Tanque Verde adding extra "convenience"...
Go early. No same day reservations. They will not even accommodate the elderly when it's 106 degrees outside when trying to make a reservation for indoors. But the service was still good and the food is top notch
This place has some amazing dishes. The fried cauliflower, ceviche, and hummus appetizer, bbq pork pizza, kids mac and cheese. The quality does change on some dishes and can be inconsistent where 1 time we go it's amazing and the next time, it's lacking flavor. Overall it's a great place to bring the kids so they can play and enjoy good food in a relaxing atmosphere.
