I love pizza and I've tried the majority of pizza places here in Tucson. I went to the annex for drinks and stumbled into Whole Slice. Did the normal of asking about the menu, prices, etc. Well, I was promised the best pizza I've ever had - a lofty promise considering my love for the slice. Consider that promise kept. I've been there more times than there are days in the week within the same week and still routinely go back. The Sunday special is my favorite though...
Tucson is lucky to have Whole Slvce. The pizza itself is genuinely great — crust texture and bake on point, toppings that actually take risks — but the thing that makes this place special is how they curate collaboration with other local restaurants. The Noodies vodka sauce pie was a standout, and the birria pizza they did with Rollie's Mexican Patio in South Tucson was one of the best slices I've had in a long time.
