The employees are always so polite and are very efficient workers, the setting of the restaurant really compliments the food, the food is absolutely to die for and I've been eating there most of my life, every single time without fail it was absolutely mind-numbing how delicious it was. I could not think any more highly of this restaurant and it deserves a Michelin star.

Delicious meats and vegetables with a variety of spices. Their current website does not include the price per item, so I unexpectedly relied on an old version with prices and spent $15 more than I expected. Their website should show accurate prices.

One of the best Ethiopian restaurants I've ever been to. Great vegan options!

Zemam's has two locations now, this one and one on Speedway, just west of 4th Ave. I asked and the veg options don't have butter. The veggie sampler is plenty. The "spicy" dishes actually have a little spice, more than some other Ethiopian places. This is where I first tried Ethiopian and it's still good over a decade later. They also have beer and wine now. *2023 update: I ate here recently and the food was very mediocre, bland. And the portion size is small. The veggie sampler is maybe enough for 1 person. This location was closed and the other location ran out of injera and had to close early. Updated from previous review on 2017-12-31

Amazing Ethiopian food. Be prepared to eat as Ethiopians do with Indira and your fingers. I had the 2 meat and 1 vegetable combo. It was more than enough. You won’t be disappointed.

Zemams is always great. The food is amazing and our server was so nice. We will return time and time again

The food is authentic Ethiopian but the dishes seem to lack distinctive flavor. Every dish tastes almost the same so not real interesting and also quite salty. The service is very good and the ambience is basic.

Love, love, love Zemam's! I was missing "Little Ethiopia" when I moved from L.A. & found this gem! If you're a local & u have yet to try Zemam's...go now! Like, right now! So yummy!

I've loved every dish! I've been going here for at least 20 yrs. I'm never disappointed! Try Lega Tibbs for meat eaters and pretty much everything for vegetarians. My favorite are Gomen Alicha, Spinach, Kik Wat, and the mixed veggies.

Food is always great. Nice people. Unmatched for Ethiopian in Tucson.

Great restaurant with amazing Ethiopian food! Fun atmosphere, which retains the hole in the wall feel. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options! We had the vegetable combo, which was awesome!

Was traveling to Sedona and found this restaurant on this app. Look up Zemam's Too. The regular Zemam's is closed. I loved the split peas. It is served with injera bread that you use the eat your food. No utensils. Cool experience.

I absolutely loved Zemam's! So fresh, delicious, and filling. I had the Gomen Alicha - carrots, cabbage & potatoes simmered in mild turmeric-based sauce; Yesimir Kay Wat - red lentils, sauteed with onions in a spicy berbere sauce; and Cauliflower - roasted cauliflower, spiced with a blend of peppers & garbanzo flour on injera bread. Tear off a piece of the bread, and use it to grab some of the deliciousness!
