“Burger King is trying hard to make a comeback as of writing this review and honestly it shows. BK isn't gourmet obviously and the burgers I've got are pretty par for the course in terms of fast food, but they are a lot better than I remember even just a few years ago...
The Whopper overall feels fresher, the bun is better and the meat is tastier than I remember.
The two mix n match sandwich deal for $11 is just about the best everyday bargain in fast food right now... two quarter pound kings for $11? Unbeatable.
The Whopper Jr, Big King Jr and even their small double and single cheeseburgers are all taking the game to McDonalds but the pricing for some of the items is strange. At this BK (Metrotown location), the Big King is only $3.99 and is a compelling McDouble alternative. At other locations its $5 and not worth the price. I don't get why a cheeseburger is $3 and a double is $5.50, that seems super wonky. Why price them like that when two mix n match sandwiches is a way better deal?
Fries, onion rings and nuggets are good if you get them fresh but I've had really mixed luck with this. Their $5 snack box often comes with soggy, lukewarm contents.
The biggest downside to this location and other Burger King locations I've visited recently, is the service is VERY SLOW... it shouldn't take 10+ mins to get a couple of basic burgers with no customizations. McDonalds is still way faster and better organized.
I was a Metrotown McDs regular but the deals and quality Burger King is offering these days have me choosing them over the competition more often than not!“
