“Lots of different varieties but only one halal place...Cazba. It's a Persian grill. I hope more halal or vegetarian options will be offered soon. The other halal place within the mall is Basha close to Zara and the stairs by Urban Behavior. As Metrotown is getting busier, there should be more seating arrangement. Parking is free only on weekends now and after 6pm weekdays“

“Delicious and comforting food!
Tried the braised pork belly rice bowl (super tender and flavorful, with really good sides) Also had the spicy pumpkin noodle soup, which was creamy and comforting. Everything tasted fresh and well done. Definitely a solid spot for a cozy meal!“

“There were a few empty tables when we came at 10:30 on Sunday, but by 11 the place became packed.
Following reviews here, we took xiao long bao and pan fried soup noodles at Shanghai Dimsum. The taste and texture was about 1000x better than what we had in places like Din Tai Fung. And ridiculously cheap: 10 CAD for 5 dumplings. Well worth the drive from Seattle just to have breakfast here.“

“Great value for their boiled dumplings: 8 beef for $8 or 10 pork for $8. I tried the pork & cabbage dumplings. Very generous amount of meat filling inside, almost too much. I wish the dumpling wrapper was rolled out just slightly bit thicker than it is because I think thickness would improve the overall texture and chewiness, and would have helped balance out the massive filling.
Overall quality and taste was very decent, maybe just a shade below R&H in Richmond and Shanghai Dimsum just few stores down, but the overall value is unbeatable.“

“The Missus and I grabbed a chicken shawarma each at Basha for a quick mall food dinner. We thought the chicken could have been more flavourful but was happy with the price to quantity ratio. There was a large eating area and Basha was located relatively close to the mall entrance for easy access.“

“Spent a few hours in the Crystal Mall on a Wednesday, and was so disappointed to see that Shanghai Dim Sum was closed for the day, my favorite XLB shop.Oh well, we ate some other delicious things, the standout was the shengjian bao, pan fried pork buns from Shanghai Fortune Cuisine. It was lined up and everyone in the rooms seemed to be eating them.Wow, they were good. Crispy on the bottom, tender on top, full of soup and pork. Delicious. Staff is friendly too!I think I found a new favorite.“

“The rice noodle rolls are freshly made, but you can really taste the rice batter, which gives them a slightly unusual flavor that might not appeal to everyone. Overall, they’re just okay — not bad, but not great either. The Chinese donut isn’t the traditional Cantonese style; it’s more like a piece of fried bread, so I wouldn’t recommend it.
The egg and minced beef congee, however, is smooth, tasty, and well-balanced in flavor. It’s definitely the highlight of the meal and worth a try. Prices are quite reasonable, making it a decent spot to stop by for a comforting bowl of congee.“
