The Dining Room at Butchart Gardens

Great experience. Food was very delicious and tea was just awesome. Our server was Jason. He was very helpful and sweet guy.

Always lovely, 100 yr anniversary tea, three tier plates of high team foods. Excellent. End April visit to Butchart Gardens, & Dining Room tea house. Beautiful gardens surrounding with tulips, daffodils, start of rhodos, saw a few blue poppies.

Our server Jason was friendly and funny, with lots of useful information about the food and drinks. We greatly enjoyed our afternoon, and the food was excellent.

My husband, our niece and I, went for afternoon tea on Sunday. We had mentioned on our online reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary as well as that it was our niece's first time in Victoria. Our server, Shane, kindly acknowledged both occasions and he was very friendly and professional. There was a little Happy Anniversary chocolate in one of our desserts which was a nice touch. My husband and I have been there for tea many times and it's always been wonderful! The price is really reasonable, especially compared to some places, and they accommodate so many food preferences/restrictions and the grounds are lovely!

Booked afternoon tea as an early Mother's Day in April and it was absolutely perfect! The tulips were in full bloom and the tea selection was perfect. They had lovely attention to detail when setting the tables and plating the snacks! Some of the food wasn't my favourite but as overall it was perfect! I'm sure anything you don't want they would be more than willing to switch because they tell you what you'll be having before it's served. The price you can't beat if you're already planning a tour of the gardens, might be a bit much with the price of admission plus the price per person for tea. But we had already planned to spend the day seeing all the flowers so it worked perfectly to add to the experience!

Tea at Butchart Gardens is always a pleasure. We took our grandchildren and they had a wonderful time.

This is the 3rd time back to the gardens and the first time having high tea. We enjoyed the Beautiful time of year to have high tea on the porch. The service by all was very good.

We had this for brunch, and finished every bit of it. The waitress’s service is wonderful and excellent at explaining all servings, worthy to drop by

Although the service is mainly afternoon tea, it is definitely not at the level of a simple fancy afternoon tea. The meals prepared by the chef for lunch on 2024/10/03 are of a very high standard. You basically have to stay for half a day when you go to Butcha Garden. Eating here is the best choice.

I feel obligated to make a shout out to Ed the assistant manager. At what restaurant does anyone, after hearing my wife's food allergies, trot off to the kitchen to see about having something special made for her during afternoon tea time. THANK YOU, ED! He also went to the sorbet shop to get her dessert as well. Wow! Now, onto the food, the savory items were tasty takes on normal tea sandwiches. The galette was my favorite. Again, the sweets were creative and delicious. My favorite was the chocolate ganache. Did I mention chocolate? Pascal did a good job serving. The wine pairings were excellent plus enough tea to float down the Fraser river. Once again many thanks for such extraordinary service.

Everytime we have been we’ve had a wonderful experience. The best high tea in Victoria. It is reasonably priced and they provide a generous amount of delicious food that changes seasonally. We have been served by Renee on multiple occasions and she provides wonderful service and is very knowledgeable. Highly recommend for any special occasion or as an indulgent treat.

The tea service was lovely, as was the service and the atmosphere. Altogether, it was a wonderful end to a great day.

At about half the cost of high tea at the Empress, you really can't beat the service and atmosphere at Butchart Gardens. Why spend another hour in traffic getting back downtown for high tea there when you can take a stroll through the spectacular gardens here, and wrap up your day with high tea!

Our server Pilar was AWESOME!!!! Such a sweet person. Incredibly helpful. We sat out on the deck. It was magical. We did the split of sparkling wine which was perfect. Truly a memorable experience.

We were having so much fun in the sunken garden we were late; staff was so gracious; Pascal is a fabulous server and knows all about the delicacies served; we so enjoyed the cabernet with the high tea; the lemon grass tea was phenomenal; AND; we were delightfully surprised at how QUIET the glassed in room was so we could visit.

This was a very enjoyable experience and a beautiful setting with terrific views out into the gardens. Our server. Natalie was very good and explaining and serving us. I would highly recommend the dining room for the afternoon tea. Wife, my wife has been to other teas and this ranks has the best. The sandwiches were outstanding.
