Always a friendly greeting. Company policy I’m sure. But it works…On me anyway. Decent prices.
Very delicious sushi! I ordered from uber eats on my lunch break and the food came very well prepared. I recommend the fire cracker roll and the alaska combo. Their alaska roll is top tier
A piece of the veggie roll had a piece of fish… we’re vegetarians so this isn’t funny at all…
Absolutely delicious this time, didn’t recognize the chefs but it was top notch in my book. Keep up the good work!
Doesn’t taste fresh.
Food is ok, but very convient location for local residents in the neighborhood.

around a hair in my california roll, waste of my money and quite honestly disgusted me for the rest of the day
Last call take out we had, and it was the worst sushi we ever had in Canada. Rolls were all broke down, and the rice tasted very old. Noodle was disgusting.

The service was very, very slow. A large party was there when we arrived, so I thought that was why we were being overlooked. But even after they left, it was the same.
My party of two also weirdly got served one water and one tea. The server said he was going to get more tea, but it never came.
When asked if I was ready to pay now, I said "Yes." I had to wait another almost 10 minutes to get the debit machine, all while watching the server making tea, packing to-go bags, etc.
No acknowledgement of all the waiting we were doing. The server wasn't alone, either. There were at least two other servers.
The food was decent, though the gomae was super bland.
We were there because we were hungry and in the area, so it was fine for that.

Gaya Sushi seems to be a popular pick-up service spot. While I was there, the door was revolving, with takeout orders being picked up
The restaurant is clean and had ample seating. Free parking out front with easy access to Lougheed Hwy.
Prices are on par with the current economy. Everything is getting so expensive, but that's across the board in Vancouver.
Service is friendly, and what I noticed was that EVERY time that front door opened, the staff greeted the person walking in. That made it feel inviting
Food tasty. I took a few pics. Tea nice and warm. Yam roll good. Avocado salad nice. Chopped scallop was ok
I'll be back.

I'm coming back! Called 3 minutes before to order, online menu is easy to read. Entered and my table is already set. Manager greeted me and food came within 3 minutes of sitting down. Clams are fresh, probably freshest I've ate in a restaurant. I ordered the seafood udon and forgot to snap a pic but I saw yakisoba noodle on the menu and will return for that!

I’ve been going for over 5 years but never left a review. I would say it’s the best sushi in Vancouver. Try the crazy girl roll.
Great service great food. Very chill

Quality Hole in the wall set up, cheap sushi, good quality. One of my fave spots in nanaimo for quick, cost friendly sushi?
