Horrible!!!! I wasn't even going to add a review, but I saw others with similar so figured I would add.
Empty restaurant, was ignored for way to long for an empty place.
Staff and older gentleman were self-absorbed (owner?), but I was excited to have good Greek food.
Well... I didn't get it there.....
Food was the worst Greek food I have had anywhere in the world. Potatoes were dry and maybe old... nothing tasted like it should have, and I was very disappointed.
I just ignor the place as I drive by now, as everyone seems to have known how bad this place is 🤮

The old man that owns the place is also the server, He’s slow and very rude and has a bad temper, anything we order is like left over from days ago. We swear not to go back to this place. The only thing good in his place is the location and ambiance. .

Our night out at Vassilis was fantastic! Our lovely server was extremely attentive, welcoming and checked in on us regularly. The atmosphere brought me back to Greece in an incredibly decorated taverna, you feel right at home. Everything we got to eat was fantastic! My partner and I shared the Saganaki and the chicken souvlaki meal. The portion size was great for the two of us. The meat was seasoned well, juice and tender and I am obsessed with their green beans. The rest of the food was great as well but the meat itself was the standout. I was really upset to see so many one star reviews after such a pleasant experience! I hope you give it a try! :)

Pleasantly surprised. It was a spur of the moment decision. Service and food were both really good.

What can I say to start off with? Totally disappointed. Three of us went for dinner came in at 5:05. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Shouldn't have known that is a sign was there about 10 years ago. Placed was packed. Greek music playing excellent. Walked in and they only were just kind of turning on some lights. The waitress Young girl had an attitude of a tuna fish. Not engaging, not smiling. You have to remember the prices here aren't cheap. They're running $30 to $40 I don't think she's ever waitressed before so we ordered three beers. There's three of us there. She came to the table. Couldn't remember who ordered what beer. Actually only two of us ordered beer one order to Coke so we thought we were for rude awakening. We should have just asked for the bill and after that point but we hasn't really ordered the food I ordered lamb. My partner ordered calamari and our friend ordered chicken souvlaki
On the menu it had been changed so many times with white out of the prices and on the menu it said meals do not include Greek salad and pita bread. I don't know how many Greek restaurants and I've been to bit never seen that put on a menu, especially when you're paying $30 to $40. Needless to say, we got our food. Totally disappointed the potatoes. I don't know how they could even put potato cubes that small on your plate. Greek potatoes usually oven roasted lemon baked potatoes. These things were dried out. Oven roasted. No flavor. The rice was horrible. My partners calamari look like the calamari bee just dipped in flour and our friend souvlake for $29. Needless to say our bill was $130 and it was absolutely just a horrible horrible meal. Never go there again and do not waste your money. Don't go there and the owner you're right. He was at the front. There looked miserable as hell didn't greet any customers didn't say anything. It's not the restaurant it used to be. Don't waste your money. Better off to go to uncle Willie's at the mall Better off to go to uncle Willie's at the mall we should have read the reviews before because we're finding out that seems to be the feeling of everybody. The owner was there scowl on his face. Didn't greet us at all. Didn't say hello. Didn't acknowledge us. Two other people came in the restaurant and they left before we finished our meal. Another two people came in left. The parking lot was empty so it's a has been place

Wow, been going here randomly since the 80’s to say it’s gone downhill is an understatement. The owner/manager gave our table dirty looks which started when I walked through the door and it slammed behind me, perhaps fix your door rather than scowl at the customer! Food was atrocious, I had roast lamb, tzatziki was tasteless, not sure what’s Greek about the meal?! Yuk! Don’t waste your money, I won’t be back, the end of many era, such a shame!.

The food and service are great, and the ambiance is absolutely charming with lots of beautiful plants and vintage décor. Just a heads-up—the owner can be a bit grumpy, sometimes even impolite, so be prepared!

Waiter/ owner, sour faced, grumpy even. Slammed plates onto table, No after care while eating, no smiling ' how is everything?' Usual service protical non ex istent. Waited for bill to arrive, had to find server. When I mentioned all this yo him,,said he was too busy. The place holds at least 100, there were 3 tables occupied.
Yes food was standard greek; despite, abundant foliage of fresh herbs everywhere, no presentation effort, on plating.
Wine was dated, meaning been opened too long. How this place has survived, amazing. Certain, not many become repeat customers.
Guessing owners are servers and cook.
Tough competition in greek dining, but I'm glad I can rake it off list of places to suggest.

Came in with my family , owner saw me walk in , I told him table for 4 please , he just looked at me and did not say anything , 10 min later we are still standing and know one is helping us , place was empty, we walked out , never going back here

DON’T! This used to be our go to Greek Restaurant in Burnaby but something has happened since our last visit. We overlooked the poor reviews thinking there must be a mistake but they were spot on. Food is now horrible and service was as expected with 1 server for the whole restaurant on a Saturday night. We will not be back.

The restaurant itself looks beautiful on the out and inside.
Unfortunately the lamb souvlaki tasted more like the server's cologne than a greek grill. The rice pilaf was moist, unseasoned. The single fleurette of cauliflower just didn't make sense. And the potatoes were baked rather than roasted. The redeeming item was by far the tzatziki.
In short, my dinner tasted like it came from a restaurant that has stopped trying.
But I want to seem bounce back because I remember driving past and seeing the restaurant filled with guests. And it would be nice to try it again when they're back on top!
