I ordered the signature malatang with less spice, and my friend ordered the sesame sauce spicy dry mix. I already had high expectations because some of my friends told me this is the number one malatang place. It really hit the spot!! So delicious. The soup had rich umami flavor and paired well with all the ingredients. The spice level was just right for me since my stomach is usually too weak to handle spiciness. I also tried some of my friend’s dish. She chose medium spicy. It was actually too hot for me, but still very tasty. Spiciness is very personal, so I recommend starting with your own comfortable level and then adjusting the spice level on your next visit. (Anyway, you’ll definitely come back!! ;)) The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made my experience even more pleasant. Also, the restaurant looked much more hygienic than other malatang places. Please keep up this great quality 🙏 The only thing I’d suggest improving is the meat container. It looked a little empty, and since the meat was rolled up, it was hard to tell how much I was actually getting.

I went to Zhang Liang Malatang today and was pleasantly surprised – they’ve started offering fresh fruit for free! The fruit is really fresh, and the restaurant is stylish and bright. Enjoying Malatang with a side of fruit makes the whole experience even better.

Really glad I can find Zhangliang Malatang in Burnaby. The restaurant is newly furnished, looks good! The servants Ayi are very friendly. All the food are fresh with a lot of choices. There are a few kinds of flavors you can choose. Besides, offering extra sauces.

Tried Pumpkin Broth today and I’m obsessed — so rich and flavorful! 🥰 They’ve just added two new soup bases (Pumpkin Broth& Sour Red Soup). I can’t wait to try the hot & sour one next time. The cashier mentioned they’ll start serving fresh fruit next week too, which sounds super refreshing. Love seeing them keep things exciting!

The restaurant just finished a full renovation and the place looks so bright and welcoming! There’s an amazing selection of fresh toppings — everything from bean sprouts and potato slices to glass noodles and rice cakes, all super crisp and well organized. The broth is packed with flavor but not overly oily, which I really appreciate. Staff are genuinely friendly and happy to explain the specials if you’re new. Overall, such a fun spot to grab malatang with friends — definitely recommend giving it a try!

They are not ready to reopen. The water on the floor kept flowing and was soggy, and today's fish fillets were too fishy. Well I really loved here but I don't know anymore lol And also container boxes and plastic bags are 50 cents each, which is more expensive than other restaurants.

For us, Medium Spicy Level is the most delicious level.
I don’t live nearby, but it’s always worth the trip. Whenever we visit, they welcome us warmly and make us feel at home. The food is consistently delicious, and the service is amazing.
