It's a great spot for winter storm watching. Campbell River has created an amazing system of trails, from ocean front to rainforest. After a few hour's hiking, it is great to just walk downstairs to their in house restaurant. Hopefully, they can keep the current chef, as the dinners we had were delicious.
Never stayed but came for brunch. Best pancakes and bacon in town but had issues with making over easy eggs. Other than that great view excellent staff. Expect a hotel tour trying to find the restaurant but I say it is worth the walk.

location and views are really special, and the layout of the hotel with a restaurant at the top and various ammenities within is really cool. HOWEVER, things are in disrepair. The chair in my room broke in half when i sat on it, the "gym" is basically unusable because the equipment is broken, the hottub is out of commision, the key readers on the doors don't work very well. things in general just look like they haven't been repaired or tended to in 10ish years.
