Celiac friendly! I love Sushi Kobo! As a celiac, I can get a wide variety of different rolls because they make gluten free tempura in a celiac friendly way! I love the yam roll and the tempura prawn roll (dynamite roll). Last time I was in town, I ate there four nights in a row! I always look forward to eating there. We particularly enjoy taking our sushi down to the marina which is lovely!

Easily the best sushi in the Comox Valley, Sushi Kobo is delicious, consistent, has great prices, and is owned by the one of the nicest families on the planet! The menu is quite varied with both sushi staples and creative new dishes. The quality is always excellent, and one bite is enough for anyone to realize that the food here is a cut above any other sushi place in the Valley.
May family and I have been coming here for over a decade. I have tried most items on the menu and have never been disappointed. They have a good selection of traditional Japanese items like natto (fermented bean paste) and saba (mackerel) and there are also tons of options for vegetarians or those who don’t like fish. Moreover, any time an item is unavailable, they always have great suggestions to offer, which has led me to finding some new favourites!
Don’t bother getting sushi anywhere else. If you want sushi in the Comox Valley, Sushi Kobo should be your only stop!

Best spicy tuna roll in the valley. Also love their tuna sashimi . Their prices are very reasonable. Love this place !

Was visiting from Seattle and was surprised to find such great sushi in a small Canadian island town. It was comparable in quality to sushi places in Seattle that charge three times as much. Friendly staff and everything was ready in about 15 minutes despite being made to order. Will be back again the next time I’m in the area.
