The Coffee Bun Bakery & Cafe

My sister and I used to travel to lonsdale quay for these coffee buns but it had closed down since. Discovered that it opened up here in Coquitlam and tried them again yesterday and they’re just like I remember! They are soft and not dry, the bread is plush and taste amazing! We had usually gotten original, earl grey and Oreo! I would order other coffee buns over the years from other places and they never compared to this place. Will definitely be back!

it’s a nice place with tasty buns, but there are a couple of aspects that make it less attractive: the fact that there is no updated information about what buns they have in stock, so you can spend a long time choosing and end up with nothing🧑🏼‍🦯
also they close quite early as for me (6pm), especially in the hot summer time. nevertheless, I must say that both buns, cookies and drinks are quite tasty, the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing :3

We have been here multiple times and everytime it’s amazing! Everything so far has been so yummy from the breakfast croissant to there specialty buns and there cookies are also to die for.

The best place for coffee, delicious buns and all the cakes and pastries are top notch! The owners are great people. I left Coquitlam 6 years ago but I still go there whenever I can with my little family or my friends. Thank you Coffee Bun!

The food and drinks are great but really over priced and service was not the best. And a lot of the times when you walk in and order coffee buns, they don’t even have it and ask you to order it an hour before? Okay fine, so I did that, and I ask if they can put the ice cream and the buns separately because I’m not eating them right away and will be driving home or saving it another day.
They said putting ice cream in a cup is a separate charge of additional $5–what?
I said im not ordering more or less ice cream, I just wanted it separate so I can combine them myself later and not have the bun all soggy and wet.
But no, they said doing that they are selling two different items. Which to me just makes no sense and feels like the owner just want to up charge for everything on something that is already over priced.
I go to another coffee shop Papa Rotti and I never have issues like this. Just feels like a rigid business model :(

Edit: after the owner saw my review, they separated the ice cream in cups and said there wouldn’t any up charge. So at least the owner is aware of reviews and willing to fix the issue.

What a delightful little place inside the Henderson Plaza. It smelled amazing as I got inside, and had a nice atmosphere to it. I got an affogato and very much enjoyed it! Wish there were other flavours for the ice cream but it was still a delicious vanilla.

Coffee is very bad.
Tiramisu Bun looks amazing but....
The only thing that is similar to tiramisu is that it is sprinkled with cacao powder.

Don't take this wrong, the food is great, but not the service. I ordered two buns to go and I saw my order was ready, but the staff kept me waiting for a couple of minutes while taking the orders of another 5 customers. It only takes seconds to hand me the to-go bag.

I always have a great experience at this lovely spot. The yummy buns are a highlight, and the Kicking Horse coffee is top-notch. The friendly staff make every visit enjoyable. It’s my favorite place to stop by whenever I’m in the Coquitlam center. Highly recommend!

Very rude staff. I was planning on visiting my friend at the store in 5 minutes today and they asked her to leave because she had stayed over 100 minutes (while she had purchased a drink for $4 in the first 60 min and a bun for around $7 during 90 minutes) we ended up going to C-market where they let their customers sit in their store.

Save your money! Very money-hungry and manipulative...

I've been a customer of theirs for 3 years, visiting once a week. Recently, I decided to get their coffee every day. It has always been just grabbing the coffee and leaving, but today I decided to stay and do my homework. The store was completely empty for the first hour. After 60 minutes, I bought a bun as well. During the 100 minutes I was there, my friend was planning to join me for coffee, but the barista approached me and said I needed to leave because their stay limit is 100 minutes.

This was very rude, considering I visit every day without even staying, I was buying something every hour, and there were more than 7 empty tables with no new customers coming in (no sign signalling the 100 minute either). I ended up going somewhere else with my friend after that rude interaction.

They basically take your money and don't even let you stay in their store. We won’t ever be coming back to this store

I have 2 things to say about this place:

1. None of the sweets have the flavor they’re supposed to have. They all somehow taste the same and quite plain.

2. Service isn’t good. Last time I was there we ordered a few things and went to order again after 2 hrs of sitting there. They said we can order takeout and can’t sit again cause we’ve reached the 2hr limit. We were the only customers there btw. So we actually decided to not order the 2nd time and left.
